                              AUTHOR'S GUIDE
                                 
Introduction to the BFDS:

  BFDS stands for the Batch File Distribution System.  It is a File
  Distribution Network for distributing the various utilities, files 
  and information used in Batch File Scripts.  The file distribution
  has been established as an adjunct to the BATPOWER echo available 
  on many Fido-Net Systems.  It is linked to systems world wide and
  still growing.

 1) "Files" are refered to as Libraries, scripts, Source code or
    Executables pertaining to BATCH file programming including utilities
    for enhancing DOS or it's equivilent and programs that operate from
    a batch file.  I would also ask that the author (or authorized 
    agent) please  make sure that the file being entered into the BFDS
    be documented, and functional.  "CrippleWare" or "VaporWare" should
    not be submitted.    
    
    ONLY PUBLIC DOMAIN AND SHAREWARE SHOULD BE SUBMITTED! 

 2) Demonstration software submitted will be allowed only if the 
    software is able to be used in some fashion that will enable the end 
    user to "Try before you buy".  Editors that are designed around 
    programming are encouraged to be submitted as well, as long as they
    meet the above criteria.

 3) Each time a file is hatched there will be a posting in the BATPOWER
    echo indicating the availablity of the File.  Periodicly, the 
    listing of the sites that the file can be found will also be posted. 
    As future updates are made available the files will be automatically 
    replaced and updated on each connected system.  This will help
    reduce the amount of "scripts" send through the BATPOWER echo.
 
 4) The Files and programs submitted to the BFDS for distribution should 
    not contain limitations as the the method or media of distribution.
    Current distribution of the files and programs is via telephone 
    /modem, Satellite systems and will soon be available on Internet.

If you are interested in contributing, please supply me with the MAGIC name(s) 
or the File name(s) of the available utilities and I will poll your system.  
Or the name and phone number of the BBS that they may be found on.

You may also either send me a netmail message to me with the Magic Or file
