This program was written to verify a problem I was having with a motherboard. I was using an AMPTRON 386sx-40mhz motherboard with an AMD microprocessor, this system seemed to lock up at irregular intervals, sometimes even re-booting for no apparant reason. The only program I found that would crash on a semi-regular basis, was the MS-DOS 6.0 MSBACKUP program, which would crash when attempting to backup, sometimes on the 1st disk, sometimes on the 10th, and at various times in-between. This also occured with the Windows version of MSBACKUP. Now, I new this software worked fine on other systems, so I tried DRWatson, hoping to learn some more about the problem. Of course, every time the system did a nasty crash, DRWatson noticed nothing, as it crashed with everything else. So, I wrote this program, because I felt the most likely culprit was POPing a bad address off of the stack, and then calling the same bad address. This would explain the intermittent/weird/freaky problem.... This program should run on any system, under windows, anywhere. Bear in mind that if your CPU has a problem with this program, the WHOLE SYSTEM COULD SHUT DOWN!!!! The program will execute at least 2,147,483,647 times before the long integer I used to store that value overflows. This should be sufficient to test the CPU. If you wish to cancel the program, press , this should cancel the program immediately. If this program reports any bad values, you can be fairly assured that your CPU is bad. Burn Stack 1.0 software, is freeware. Use it in any way you wish. Keep in mind, I will not be held resposible for any damages incurred from using this program, so RUN THIS PROGRAM AT YOUR OWN RISK!
