This is a pre-Beta test Sound Blaster driver. Because there is no Preferences module for choosing a sound driver, you will need to install it by hand (so to speak). The following steps explain how to install the driver. (1) In your geos.ini file, add (or modify) the sound category as follows. [sound] sampleDriver = sblaster.geo synthDriver = sblaster.geo sampleDriver plays sampled sounds and synthDriver plays all synthesized sounds (beeps, UI sounds, etc.). (SDK owners: for more info on geos.ini, see Tools book, section 9.2.27, page 392. Or see \TechDocs\Tools\Tini.txt.) (2) For Ensemble 2.0 USERS: Copy sblaster.geo to \geos20\system\sound\sblaster.geo. For GEOS DEVELOPERS: a) Copy both .GEO files to \pcgeos\driver\sound\soundbla\ b) On the Target Machine, change directory to \geosec and run PCCOM. On the Host Machine, in the directory containing sblaste0.geo, run PCS. This will install the driver for Error Checking mode. c) On the Target Machine, change directory to \geosnc and run PCCOM. On the Host Machine, in the directory containing sblaster.geo, run PCS -n. This will install the driver for Non-error Checking mode. Copyright (c) 1993 Geoworks. All rights reserved.
