Crocheted Golf Club Covers (Socks)

Materials:   5 skeins of main color rug yarn
             2 skeins of contrasting color rug yarn
             J size crochet hook

Gauge is 5 sc = 2 inches.

Starting at top with main color, ch 2, 6 sc in ring.
ROW 2: 2 sc in each sc. Mark beginning of rows.
ROWS 3 and 4: Increase 6 sc evenly around.

Work 5 more ros on 24 sc. Decrease 2 sc evenly on each of next 2 rows.

#3 (2-1) Clubs Only: work 5 (91-13) more rows.

All clubs: drop main color, * with contrasting color, work 2 rows,
with main color work 2 rows*.

#4 (3-2) clubs only: repeat from * to * 3 (2-1) times.

All clubs: With main color, work 3 more rows. sl st in the next st,
fasten off. Sew metal ring to each top. With main color, ch 24
unches, fasten off, draw thru rings and hold together at center.
Trim with tassles. Make karge tassle for joing.

To make tassles:  Start wutg a piece of cradboard as long as you
wish the tassel to be; wind yarn around the cardboard until you
have the desired thickness. The yarn strands together at the top.
Cut the yarn at the other end. Then wind a piece of yarn or thread
around the uncut several times and fasten to hold the strands
together.
