How to Create Satin Rose Bridal Favors These satin roses are filled with rice or bridseed and are given as favors at bridal showers and saved for the wedding day. When the bridal couple leaves the ceremony, the guests open the end of the flower, toss the contents and save the rose as a keepsake. Materials: (for EACH rose) 3" x 3" square satin ribbon thin wire or lollipop stick green floral tape silk leaf uncooked rice or birdseed Fold the ribbon with the wrong side facing OUT (this will result in a double thickness of material 1 1/2" wide). Stitch down the open side. Turn inside out. Insert wire and leaf in the end of the ribbon. Wrap AND Gather ribbon close to wire. Using floral tape, wind around gathered end snugly and continue down wire. Place 1 teaspoon of rise or birdseed inside open flower, then tuck upper half of ribbon down inside to hold filler in.
