=========================================================================== BBS: The GWE BBS [ASV/CIN] Date: 03-21-93 (11:54) Number: 392 From: BIG TREE #53 @1604003*1 Refer#: NONE To: ALL Recvd: YES Subj: Chick Pea Soup Conf: (37) Home Cooki --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a recipe for chick pea soup, handed down from father to son, well maybe if I ever get a son... - 8 cups chicken or beef stock - 3 cups cooked chickpeas (canned OK) - 1 tbsp Cumin seeds, crushed (this is important do not use preground) - 2 med onions, coarsly chopped Simmer the above for 20 mins then puree in a blender or use a hand blender. - 2 tbsp flour - 4 tbsp butter Warm the butter, mix in flour and add to above a little at a time, stirring with a whisk. - 1 cup half-and-half or similar Add to the above, salt and pepper to taste. You can add a little finely chopped leftover meat if you are so inclined.
