                      BAKED RICE PUDDING

3 oz rice
2 oz brown sugar
2 pints milk
1 oz. butter, cut into
  small pieces

Put the rice, sugar and milk into a lightly greased ovenproof dish and stir
to mix.  Dot over the butter and put into the oven preheated to 300F.
Bake for 2 1/2 hours, or until the liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.
Stir once or twice during the cooking period.

Serves 4-6
