Brown meat; drain off fat. Add next twelve ingredients; stir to blend. Cover and simmer 1« hours, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf. Cholesterol Reduction: If you substitute low fat ricotta cheese Ground turkey for red meat low fat Mozzarella And turkey sausage In case anyone is interested, I saute my onions and peppers and everything else, just about in a teaspoon of oil and 1/4 inch of water and it works very well with much less fat. I pre boil sausage and other meats that I use for pot roast and then skim the fat before I season and cook.
