AREN RADIO RELAY FORM. ---------------------- The Eastern Region AREN Group have produced a "draft" message or relay form which can be used when sending third party messages in an emergency situation. The form provides a record of the AREN details e.g. operator, station location etc. as well as a written record of the text of the message. Any AREN groups or local clubs who would like a copy of the draft form may contact Paul Martin, EI2CA, at QTHR. Comments or suggestions regarding the form can be considered prior to the preparation of the final product. RSGB 70MHz FIXED CONTEST. ------------------------- The RSGB 70 MHZ fixed contest takes place on Sunday the 27th of March from 09:00 to 13:00 UTC. 70 MHz is a band which we must used or lose and this contest will provide an opportunity for those equipped for four metres to dust off the gear and make a few QSO's. Don't forget to listen around 70.260 for the AM stations who are also good for a few points. If you are not entering the contest, go portable and make it easier for the fixed stations to work you. They will be able to claim points for each QSO they make with EI. Finbar Buckley thanked EI6GY for standing in whilst he was away in England. A formal Discussion took place regarding the linking of a 70 cm Repeater with the existing 2 metre Repeater. A vote was taken to leave the 70 cm stand alone with further developments to take place next year.
