Multi-Color Twist Bracelet

If you would like to make a Bracelet with more than one
color. Follow the same knotting technique as in Solid
Color Twist with the following additional instructions:

You'll need 1 Skein Of DMC Floss (ArtiCle 117)
of each color in the Bracelet. Rather than having
just 2 long strands as in the Solid Color Twist. you will
need 2 long strands of each color you want to show on
the outside ot Bracelet. The long strands in this Brace-
let can be shorter since you'li use more of them.

To make a two color Bracelet, you would need the foi-
iowing: two 2 yd. strands of Color X. Two 2 yd strands
of Coior Y and four 15" strands of any Color (Z).

The Color Z strands can be any color since they'il be
on inside of Braceiet and will not show.

Arrange strands so Color X strands are on left, then
Color Y strands, then Color Z strands (see Diagram 6).
Tie strands in knot leaving a 2-2 12" tail as in diagram
2 and tape to surface. Smooth out strands so they are
again in correct order.

Start out using Color X strands as "working strands".
All other strands, Y and Z, are considered "anchor
strands". When you change frorn Color X to Color Y.
the Y strands become the working strands. The X
strands are combined with Z strands in base of anchor
strands There must always be 6 strands in base
Now follow Steps 7 4 in the Solid Color Twist instruc-
tions. When the instructions refer to "A1 " and "A2",
they are referring to the "working strands" and "anchor
strands", respectively. Continue knotting until you're
ready to change from Color X to Color Y.

CHANGING COLORS
Knot until Color X strands are on far right. Bring X
strands to left and combine them with Z strands (see
Diagram 7). Remember. Z strands are the shorter
strands. Twist Bracelet siightiy to right so Color Y
strands. which will now be the working strands, are
on left. Repeat Steps 1-4 again, being sure knots are
pulled tightly in upward direction so alternate color
in base does not show through.

The instructions are the same for more than 2 colors.
The lengths of strands that will show on outside of
Bracelet should be 1 1/2" yds. (54") long and remaining
strands, which will only be used as part of the base,
should be 15" long.

Helpful Hint: If long lengths of floss are difficult to
work with, wind the excess into small balls and wrap
with eiastic bands. Unwind thread as needed.
