REQUIREMENTS: _____________ BRUN45.EXE Runtime File (This is Needed For The Program to Run) CGA Monitor (sysop end only, MONO ok on remote providing remote user receives ansi) IMB XT/AT/386 Also supports Desqview. This program has been tested on the following systems. Wildcat 2,X, and 3.0 Gap v4.0 and Greater Pcboard v14.0 QuickBBS v2.64 thru v2.75 SuperBBS Remote Access Spitfire BBS DorinofX.Def Drop Files ----------------------- This program should also work with other DORINFOx.DEF & DOOR.SYS producing BBS's. For other BBS's not mentioned, there are MANY door conversion utilities available. You will also need a copy of Brun45.exe in your path or file directory along with SOLITAIRE. My suggestion is to have it in your dos path so you don't have duplicate copies of it anywhere. INSTALLATION OF THE DOOR: _________________________ USING THE INSTALL PROGRAM: -------------------------- I have made a program called INSTALL that will automatically make the SOL.CNF file needed to run the program. 1. First create a directory for the program and place all the files in that directory. C:\WILDCAT\DOOR\SOL (whatever you door directory will be) 2. Below is what the SOL.CNF file should look like. Line one is the path to your dropfile. Line two is the name of your BBS Line three is your name that you use on your BBS. Line four is where you specify what type of BBS software you have. Line five is where you specify if you are running at lock baud or not. If you are running lock baud then enter the baud rate....ie 9600 or 19200 or 38400. Enter 0 for none. Line six is to tell if you wish to have page available or not. 1 = YES 0 = NO Line seven is the total time you wish a user to be on the door at one given time. Line eight is how many times a user may play the game per day. Line nine is the IRQ information for comm port 3 Line ten is the IRQ information for comm port 4 Line eleven is the number of pints to be given for each card played on the foundation. Line twelve is the number of points to required to break even. Line thirteen is the bonus points for clearing the Solitaire Board. Line fourteen is where you will specify the ASCII Bulletin path and filename. Line fifteen is where you will specify the ANSI Bulletin path and filename. Okay here is what the whole thing should look like after you finish: C:\WILDCAT The Lighthouse BBS Danny Davis WC3 19200 or 0 for none 1 30 5 03E8 3 02E8 4 10 100 250 C:\WILDCAT\BULL\BULL1.ANS C:\WILDCAT\BULL\BULL1.ASC 3. Okay now lets look at are batch file to start the game. WILDCAT DOOR#.BAT : ----------------------- DOOR#.BAT CD\WILDCAT\DOOR\SOL SOL CD\WILDCAT CAT QuickBBS & DORINFOx.DEF (a TYPE 15 for QuickBBS) ----------------------- You may specify up to 9 different DorinfoX.def 's by selection from within the install program. D: CD\DOORS\SOL SOL C: CD\QBBS GOTO RESTART To run as a type 7 (for QuickBBS), simply put the SOL.BAT file in the QuickBBS directory, using "*C /C SOL.BAT" in the optional data line in the type 7 menu. (there are other ways to do it, this is the easiest). Gap and Pcboard: ________________ DOOR#.BAT CD\DOOR\SOL SOL CD\GAP GAP For Local Players (Non BBS) ___________________________ 1. Okay just edit the SOL.CNF to state the path where your SOLITAIRE files are. See example below. Plus use the /LOCAL command Okay lets say my path is C:\SOL The SOL.CNF will look like the following: C:\SOL The Lighthouse BBS 'Whatever you wish for this line Danny Davis 'Your Name DOOR.SYS 'Leave as Door.Sys 0 'You need not to speciffy LockBaud 1 'N/A 30 'Max Time Per Game 5 'Max Time On 03E8 3 'N/A 03E8 4 'N/A 10 'points for cards played 100 'deduction points for each game 250 'Bouns for clearing board PATH\FILENAME 'for ansi bulletin PATH\FILENAME 'for ascii bulletin Maintenance : ------------- Also enclosed is a maintenance file that needs to be ran once a day to keep the player.dat file clean. By passing a nuber value from 8-30 you can specify how many days you will allow a user to stay in the door before being deleted. i.e. MAINT 17 'this allows 17 days before a player is deleted for non-use SOLBULL : ---------- This file can be ran each time the door is exited or in a nightly batch file. It will make a ANSI and a ASCII Bulletin from the information you specify in your installation module. Page Files : ------------ Read the PAGE.CTL and configure it to meet your needs. Multi - Line BBS : ------------------ Well this is a rather simple task. When you run the install program you can pick upto 4 different configuration files. To run this door as a multi door all you need to do is place the following statement: SOL SOL1.CNF And so on for the rest of the configuration files. The reason for this is so you may specify the different LOCKBAUD rates for each node. Support BBS : ------------- The Lighthouse BBS 209-442-8329 Fido Net 1:205/75 US ROBOTICS DUAL STANDARD Registration of this door will cost you $15.00 plus shipping and handling. With your registration you will recieve a key file that will work with all future versions of SOLITAIRE.
