Welcome to Valence, my new QWK door for Searchlight.

Notice this message is number "0" - that's because it isn't really in
your mailbox, only in your packet. It's auto-sent to every new user,
along with "bulletin 0", the user documentation file for Valence, which
you may already have read. If not, it should be in your packet under the
name "BLT-0.0" (or "BLT-1.0", if you're in Yucky mode). You may want to
save this "bulletin" for future reference. It's a bit long (around 40k),
so you may not want to read it all now. You don't need to read ANY of it
to use Valence. (But it might be a good idea.)

This is version 1.1 of Valence, so despite by best efforts, there are
bound to be a few bugs left unsquashed. Please report any you find to
me. You can netmail me at the address above (1:379/301 Fidonet, or
250:101/226 SL_Net) - send it to "WILLIAM MCBRINE", *NOT* "SYSOP" - or
use the addresses below. This is not only a fake MAIL message, but a
fake Netmail message, too. :-) (Sending netmail from within Valence is
not supported quite yet; you'll have to use the BBS.)

If you have any suggestions or comments, let me know. The default
settings in Valence are set pretty much by my personal preference; tell
me what YOU would like them to be.

Whichever method you use, please spell my name correctly. It's NOT
"McBride" nor "McBrian" nor any other variation; it's "McBrine".
M-C-B-R-I-N-E. If you mispell my name in e-mail, I will probably not
receive it. I hate having to say this, but people mess up my name all
the time.
