Requirements : ============== BRUN45.EXE Runtime Module File (Needed for he program to run) CGA Monitor (sysop end only, Mono is okay on remote providing remote user receives ansi) IBM XT/AT/386 BBS that makes one of the following Drop File's CALLINFO.BBS DOOR.SYS DORINFO#.DEF This program has been tested on the following systems : ------------------------------------------------------- WILDCAT 2.x and 3.x, Gap v4.0 and greater, PcBoard v14.0 or greater, QuickBBS v2.6 thru v2.75, Remote Access. This program should also work with other DORINFOx.DEF producing BBS's, such as RBBS and SuperBBS. For other BBS's not mentioned, there are MANY door conversion utilities available. This door will also run under Desqview. Installation Of The Door : ========================== Step One : ---------- First create a directory for the program and place all the files into that directory. i.e. C:\WILDCAT\DOOR\VIDEO (whatever your DOOR directory will be) Step Two : ---------- Use the install program to configure the configuration file to meet your specifications. Contents Of The Configuration File : ------------------------------------ Line one is the path to your door, which should be the same as the path you created in STEP ONE. Line two is the name of your BBS. Line three MUST be left alone. It should be set to 0 (zero). Line four is the name that you use on your BBS. Line five is where you specify if you are running at Lock Baud or not. If you are running Lock Baud then enter the Baud Rate... i.e. 9600, 19200, etc.... Or enter 0 (zero) for none. Line six is where you specify what type of BBS you are running. WC2 - Wildcat 2.x (CALLINFO.BBS) WC3 - Wildcat 3.x (DOOR.SYS) GAP - Gap Systems (DOOR.SYS) Dorinfo#.def - QBBS, RA, RBBS (DORINFO#.DEF) The # is replaced with the numerical value for the Dorinfo drop file Line seven is where you let the game know what card type to use. You may make the cards random or use one specific card. Line eight is where you tell the game if the player can win on any pair or JACKS or BETTER. Line nine is where you specify what the ansi file path and name will be for the TOP 10 Bulletin. Line ten is where you specify what the ascii file path and name will be for the TOP 10 Bulletin. Here is the completed file : ---------------------------- C:\WILDCAT\DOOR\VIDEO The Lighthouse BBS 0 Danny Davis 19200 or 0 (zero) for none WC3 0, 1, or 2 0 or 1 C:\WILDCAT\BULL\BULL1.ANS C:\WILDCAT\BULL\BULL1.ASC BBS Batch Files : ================= WILDCAT 2.X (CALLINFO.BBS) : ---------------------------- CD\WILDCAT\DOOR\VIDEO COPY C:\WILDCAT\CALLINFO.BBS VIDEO VPBULL CD\WILDCAT CAT CALLINFO.BBS has to be copied to the game path. If it doesn't find the CALLINFO.BBS file then it will exit back to the BBS. Will also show the user a error code. WILDCAT 3.X (DOOR.SYS) : ------------------------ This will run the same as above except instead of copying CALLINFO.BBS you'll copy the DOOR.SYS file. QuickBBS & DORINFO#.DEF (a Type 15 for QuickBBS) : --------------------------------------------------- You may specify up to nine different DORINFO#.DEF's by using the install program. D: CD\DOORS\VIDEO COPY C:\QBBS\DORINFO2.DEF VIDEO VPBULL C: CD\QBBS GOTO RESTART DORINFO#.DEF has to be copied to the game path. If it doesn't find the DORINFO file, then it will exit back to the BBS. To run a type 7 (for QuickBBS), simply put the VIDEO.BAT file in the QuickBBS directory, using "*C /C VIDEO.BAT" in the optional data line in the type 7 menu. (there are other ways to do it, this is the easiest). GAP and PCBOARD : ----------------- C: CD\DOOR\VIDEO COPY C:\GAP\DOOR.SYS VIDEO VPBULL CD\GAP GAP Maintenance : ------------- Also enclosed is a maintenance file that needs to be ran once a day to keep the player.dat file clean. By passing a number value from 8-30 you can specify how many days you will allow a user to stay in the door before being deleted. i.e. "MAINT 17" this allows 17 days before a player is deleted for non-use VPBULL : -------- This file can be ran each time the door is exited or as a nightly event. I recommend after the door exits. It will make a ANSI and a ASCII Bulletin from the information you specify in your installation module. Page and Comm Control Files : ----------------------------- Read the PAGE.CTL and COMM_IRQ.CTL files and configure it to meet your needs. Local Mode : ------------ To run the game in LOCAL mode just type /LOCAL after the VIDEO.EXE on the command line "VIDEO /LOCAL". Multi - Line BBS : ------------------ Well this is a rather simple task. When you run the install program you can pick upto 4 different configuration files. To run this door as a multi door all you need to do is place the following statement: VIDEO VIDEO1.CNF And so on for the rest of the configuration files. The reason for this is so you may specify the different LOCKBAUD rates for each node. Support BBS : ------------- The Lighthouse BBS Midnight Madness 209-442-8329 209-252-8466 Fido Net 1:205/75 Fido Net 1:205/76 Both Systems Run On A US ROBOTICS DUAL STANDARD Registration of this door will cost you $12.50 plus shipping and handling.
