April 9, 1993: An idea hits me like Bad Gas after Mexican food...I want to
Version 1.0    make a door to allow users to choose a funny prompt file when
BETA           they log on! I write it and excitedly tell Shawn McGill of  
               The Improv BBS about it and he let's out a deep sigh and 
               asks if I used doorframe routines or just QuickBasic.  I 
               suspect something is terribly wrong.  I am right!

April 10, 1993: I download Doorframe from The Parole Board...Thanks Dennis!
Version 1.1     and stay up until 3:30 a.m. learning how to use it and
BETA            calling Tom Wildoner too see if he is awake too...he is and
                he answers some crucial questions..."Yes Joe, your wife WILL
                be mad tomorrow!"  This version worked but kept giving me
                some wierd error message anyway.

April 11, 1993: Hey...where did that error message go?  I KILLED IT!  This
Version 1.2     version works like a champ and traps just about every kind
BETA            of sysop mistake imaginable!  WOW, Does this mean I am a
                programmer?  My wife is not impressed....She is growing to
                hate the computer and I often see her lurking near it with
                heavy objects in her hand.

April 12, 1993: After launching my wife's cat off my work desk for jumping
Version 1.3     on the keyboard and creating all kinds of neat-o typos for
BETA            me to debug...I added a setup utility into the door.
                Typing the words "Transl8r Setup" will run the setup program
                and help you make your config files in the correct format.
                Now to get the cat hair out of my floppy drive!  Good thing
                my wife is so attractive or I would take those cats for a 
                "RIDE".  Oh yeah...don't type quotes when typing the setup
                command line please...hope I insulted your intelligence!

April 13, 1993: After buying my wife a box of Godiva chocolate to smooth her
Version 1.4     out.  I added in a file called "SKIPIT.DAT".  When registered,
BETA            the door will read the security levels listed in that file and
                allow them to totally bypass the door.  Allowed the mail runs
                to go unhindered and kept me from seeing the door every time
                I logged on....Co-Sysops liked it too! Most people who run 
                mail or have no sense of humor will really appreciate this
                feature!

APRIL 15, 1993  FIRST PUBLIC RELEASE OF THE TRANSLATOR VERSION 1.0!
                I got my doorframe codes this morning!!
