PSPPCL, Version 1.00 -- (c) 1993 by David Pannett. For HP printer with HP PostScript Cartridge Plus (level 2 PostScript cartridge). Usage: PSPPCL MODE [PORT] Where: MODE (required) 'PS' or 'PCL'. The mode to which to switch the printer. PORT (optional) 'LPT1', 'LPT2', 'COM1' or 'COM2'. Default is LPT1. Examples: psppcl ps Switches printer on LPT1 to PostScript mode. psppcl pcl lpt2 Switches printer on LPT2 to PCL mode. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I wrote this little utility when I acquired an HP PostScript Cartridge Plus second-hand, and found that I lacked software to switch modes. Since then I've gotten the software from HP... and if you're like me, you don't really want to install more TSRs and device drivers, or to litter your root directory with multiple batch files, ASCII files, .COM files, etc. etc. So, here it is, ABSOLUTELY FREE! Simple, quick, elegant, one-stop shopping: just use the .EXE file to switch modes from the command line, following the examples above. (Put the PSPPCL.EXE file somewhere in your path.) Invoking the program without parameters (or with a ?, or with invalid parameters) displays the copyright and usage info above. No guarantees expressed or implied. Feel free to redistribute this program to your friends, BBSs, etc. David Pannett (617)283-2072 Internet: dpannett@lucy.wellesley.edu GEnie: D.PANNETT
