Stickies! 2.1


Stickies! is a shareware note manager for Windows 3.0 and later running in
either Standard or 386 Enhanced mode.

To install Stickies! you can either install directly from the floppy disk
or copy the files to a directory on your hard disk.

If you're replacing an older copy of Stickies! on your system, we
recommend that you use the provided installation program.  It will prompt
you for permission to overwrite any files before it does so.

When you run the INSTALL.EXE program it will copy the Stickies! program
and data files to the directory of your choice, and it will also copy
COMMDLG.DLL and SHELL.DLL to your Windows system directory if you don't
already have those files.  If you're upgrading from version 1.5 of
Stickies!, the install program will optionally copy (not move) your data
files from your Windows directory to your installation directory, so they
will automatically be used by Stickies! 2.1 and converted to 2.1 files.
This is normally all the file conversion you will have to worry about.
Once your files are moved to the Stickies! 2.1 directory and converted
to 2.1 format, you can delete the old Stickies! files in your Windows
directory.

If you allow the installation program to run Stickies!, it will make
Stickies! perform its self-test.  You can run the self-test to check the
main Stickies! program for tampering at any time by selecting "Perform
Self-check" on the main Stickies! program menu.

Note that Stickies! will never, under any circumstances, modify your
AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, WIN.INI, or SYSTEM.INI files, and it no longer
stores any of its data files in your Windows directory.

The most convenient way to use Stickies! on a daily basis is to add it
to your Startup group if you're using Windows 3.1 or later, or add
"STICKIES.EXE" to the "run=" line in your WIN.INI file if you're using
Windows 3.0.
