This document contains the README.NEW file for WordPerfect 5.2
for Windows in its entirety.  The text has not been changed, but
headings have been bolded and enlarged for clarity.


WordPerfect takes advantage of Hewlett Packard NewWave.

To use WordPerfect 5.2 for Windows in NewWave, you must first
install the WordPerfect-NewWave Bridge.

The installation procedure is different for NewWave 3.0 and
NewWave 4.0 users. To determine whether you are using HP NewWave
version 3.0 or version 4.0,

1     Start NewWave.

2     Choose About NewWave Office from the Action menu.

3     NewWave 3.0 will display either "A.03.00" or "A.03.04"
      listed after the component names.  NewWave 4.0 will display
      "A.04.00" or "C.01.00" after the component names. 

4     Choose OK.

To install the WordPerfect Bridge for NewWave version 3.0,

1     Start NewWave.

2     Insert the WordPerfect Install/Program 1 diskette into
      drive A: or drive B:.

3     Choose Import From Disk File from the Objects menu.

4     Double-click on [-a-] or [-b-] to display the A: or B:
      drive listing (you may have to scroll to find it).

5     Double-click on WPBRIDGE.SER.  The bridge will appear on
      the NewWave Desktop.

6     Double-click on the WordPerfect 5.2 for Windows bridge
      object on the desktop.

7     Choose Install Application from the Installation menu.

8     In the Application Path text box, type the drive and path
      where WPWIN.EXE is located (for example, C:\WPWIN\).

9     Choose OK, Install.

10    Choose Close from the Action menu to return to the NewWave
      desktop.

To create an object for WordPerfect 5.2 for Windows in NewWave
version 3.0,

11    Choose Create A New from the Objects menu.

12    Select the WordPerfect 5.2 for Windows icon (you may have
      to scroll to find it).

13    In the Filename For DOS Object text box, type the title of
      the WordPerfect object you would like to create.

14    Choose OK.

15    A new WordPerfect object with the filename you typed is
      displayed on the NewWave desktop.  To start WordPerfect 5.2
      for Windows and open the file, double-click the new object.

To install the WordPerfect Bridge for NewWave version 4.0,

1     Start NewWave.

2     Choose Install Application from the Settings menu.

3     Select DOS/Windows(EXE) from the List Files of This Type
      list box.

4     In the Directories list box, double-click on the directory
      where WPWIN.EXE is located (for example, [wpwin]).

5     Select WPWIN.EXE.

6     Choose OK.  The bridge will be installed into NewWave.

To create an object for WordPerfect 5.2 for Windows in NewWave
version 4.0,

7     Choose Create A New from the Objects menu.

8     Select the WordPerfect 5.2 for Windows icon.

9     Choose OK.

10    In the Title For New Object text box, type the title of the
      WordPerfect object you would like to create.

11    Choose OK.

12    A new WordPerfect object with the filename you typed is
      displayed on the NewWave desktop.  To start WordPerfect 5.2
      for Windows and open the file, double-click the new object.
