HELP SCREEN - Profile Menu From the Profile Menu you may view a Temperament Profile by selecting any of the listed choices. Just press the key that is to the left of your choice. Profile Menu Key to press --> A: Personality B: Career etc... The range of choices can be seen in the Menu Bar on the right side of the screen - A-E. Pressing a key outside this range will cause the computer to beep once and start the menu choices flashing until a correct command key is pressed. Pressing the ESC key will allow you to escape to the Profile Menu. Use this key to exit when you are through viewing profiles.   HELP SCREEN - Viewing Profiles You may view the profile text one line at a time, one page at a time, move to the start/finish of the text, or exit back to the Profile Menu. HELP SCREEN - View/Print/Graph From this menu you can VIEW or PRINT the type or temperament profile. If an assessment is on record, you may also view the ASSESSMENT GRAPH. A: View ENTJ Profiles By pressing the A key you will arrive at another menu that will allow you to VIEW Descriptions of the personality TYPE shown in this option (in this example it is the ENTJ type). The personality type is one of 16 personality characters. B: View NT Profiles By pressing the B key you will arrive at another menu that will allow you to VIEW Descriptions of the TEMPERAMENT shown in this option (in this example it is the NT type). Temperament is one of the basic four categories of type. C: Print ENTJ Profiles By pressing the C key you will arrive at another menu that will allow you to PRINT Descriptions of the personality TYPE shown in this option (in this example it is the ENTJ type). The personality type is one of 16 personality characters. You will need to be connected to a printer which is turned on and ready to print. D: Print NT Profiles By pressing the D key you will arrive at another menu that will allow you to PRINT Descriptions of the TEMPERAMENT shown in this option (in this example it is the NT type). Temperament is one of the basic four categories of type. You will need to be connected to a printer which is turned on and ready to print. E: View Assessment Graph If you have arrived at this menu by selecting a person's name from the assessments on record you may view the ASSESSMENT GRAPH by pressing the E key. This is a small graph showing the function percentages from the assessment itself. If you have arrived at this menu by the Z option (Choose Any Type), pressing E will display a message stating that the ASSESSMENT GRAPH is not available because no assessment is on record. Pressing the ESC key will bring you back to the MAIN MENU once this Help Window is closed.   HELP SCREEN - Confirmation This gives you a chance to confirm that your first name, last name, age, and sex are all correct by pressing the Y key for YES. If they are not, press the N key for NO. Pressing the ESC key, once this HELP window is closed, will bring you back to the MAIN MENU.   HELP SCREEN - Enter SEX Before you take the personality assessment you must enter in your name, age, and sex. For now, just type in your SEX and press the RETURN key ÄÙ. EXAMPLE: ÕÍÍ͸ ³ M ³ ÔÍÍ; Just press the F key for FEMALE, or the M key for MALE. If you make a mistake you can press the DEL key to back over and erase any character. If you find a mistake after you have pressed the RETURN key, don't worry, you will be given the chance to start over once you have entered in your name, age, and sex. HELP SCREEN - Enter AGE Before you take the personality assessment you must enter in your name, age, and sex. For now, just type in your AGE and press the RETURN key ÄÙ. HELP SCREEN - Confirmation If you want to QUIT taking the assessment, press the Y key. Pressing the N key will take you back to where you left off in the assessment.   HELP SCREEN - Undo question If you want to change an answer you can do so by pressing the U key. The last question you answered will appear on the ÚÄÄÄ¿ screen with your choice in a small box ³ A ³ on the bottom of the text window. You ÀÄÄÄÙ may change this answer by pressing the A, B, or S keys. ³ ³ Press the <- key to see old questions -> ³ <- Scan ³ Press the -> key to see old questions -> ³ -> Scan ³ ³ ³ Any answer can be changed by scanning back with the LEFT ARROW <- key to other questions, the RIGHT ARROW -> key will allow you to scan forward. HELP SCREEN - Main Menu The MAIN MENU allows you three options which you can choose by pressing the A, B, or C keys. A: Assessment This option will allow you to take an assessment which will reveal your personality type. After you have answered the 70 questions, your assessment will be recorded on disk. (A message will indicate if 250 assessment records have been previously saved on the disk, you will need to erase a record before taking another assessment if this occurs.) B: Profiles This option will allow you to VIEW or PRINT personality descriptions for any assessment on record (or any personality type). It will also allow you to view an assessment GRAPH. C: Records This option will allow you to erase one (or all) of the assessment records on the disk. By pressing the ESC key you may quit "Please Understand Me" and return to DOS. (You will be asked to confirm this choice by pressing the Y or N key.)   HELP SCREEN - Assessment Results This page describes the RESULTS of the assessment. ASSESSMENT RESULTS (left side of page) The left side of the page shows the eight standard FUNCTIONS with the number of answered questions that correspond to each function. The total number of answered questions relating to a function is directly to the right and under the N. ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿ ³  E N T J  ³ In this example 8 answ- ³ Functions N Times % ³ ers where related to ³ ³ Extroversion and 2 to ³ Extroverted 08 01:47 80.00% ³ Introversion. Skipped ³ Introverted 02 00:36 20:00% ³ questions are left out. ³ ³ The resulting personality TYPE (ENTJ in this example) is found at the top. Under Times you will see the total minutes & seconds used on those answers related to the function on the left. In this example it took a total of 1 min. & 47 sec. to answer those questions corresponding toward the Extroverted function. It took 36 sec. to answer the questions toward the Introverted function. Under the % is the rounded-down percentage of function from the questions on the assessment. This example show that %80.00 of the Extroverted/Introverted questions where answered in the Extroverted direction (%20.00 in the Introverted). GRAPH (right side of page) The GRAPH shows a visual representation of the total number of questions answered in a particular function. A complete de- scription is found by pressing the F1 Help key from the GRAPH page (next screen shown after pressing RETURN). Press the RETURN key ÄÙ to continue once this Help Window closes.   HELP SCREEN - GRAPH GRAPH (right side of page) The GRAPH shows a visual representation of the total number of questions answered in a particular function. The personality type on the top of the graph (ENTX in this example) is the resulting type with evenly scored functions indicated by a X. The computer will use timing analysis to determine which function is more likely the dominant one. Below the percentages is the temperament name, a brief description of the temperament, and the personality type name (along with the percent found in the population). Press the RETURN key ÄÙ to continue once this Help Window closes.   HELP SCREEN - Printer Error If your printer was not on, or turned off during printing an ERROR message will be displayed. A: Begin PRINTING again Try to set your printer back on, making sure all cables are connected properly. Press the A key to start the printing process again. If you printer prints one page at a time, uses a different port, or you have problems with the placement of text on the paper, you may need to run the UTILITY PROGRAM called PRINTER. This program will allow you to set up Please Understand Me to your specific needs. B: EXIT from printing If you want to stop the printing process you can press the B key and return to the Print/View/Graph menu. Pressing ESC will also allow you to exit without printing.   HELP SCREEN - Printing Before pressing the RETURN key ÄÙ, turn your printer on and set the paper to the top of the page. If you printer prints one page at a time, uses a different port, or you have problems with the placement of text on the paper, you may need to run the UTILITY PROGRAM called PRINTER. This program will allow you to set up Please Understand Me to your specific needs. Pressing ESC will allow you to exit printing.   HELP SCREEN - Choose a Record All completed assessments are saved to disk and will be displayed on the Assessment Record Display. This is a window displaying one page (10 assessment records) at a time. You may choose any record which is being displayed by pressing the letter to the left of the users name. Press Z  to view ANY of the TYPES By pressing the Z key you will be given the option of viewing any personality type. Although an assessment graph will not be available, profiles of any type can be viewed or printed. Pressing ESC will bring you back to the MAIN MENU once this Help Window is closed. A: Save Assessment Pressing the A key will display the ASSESSMENT RESULTS and save the assessment record on disk. Option B from the MAIN MENU will allow you to access a saved assessment record. B: Change an Answer If you want to change an answer you can do so by pressing the B key. The last question you answered will appear on the screen with your choice in a small box. Any answer can be changed by scanning back. ESC Press ESC to return to the MAIN MENU without saving or viewing the assessment results.
