Document 3139 DOCN M94A3139 TI Acute and sustained immunosuppression with HIV seroconversion. DT 9412 AU Gupta KK SO Int Conf AIDS. 1994 Aug 7-12;10(1):145 (abstract no. PB0006). Unique Identifier : AIDSLINE ICA10/94369436 AB OBJECTIVE: Acute and sustained immunosupression with serious systematic opportunistic infection can occur immediately after HIV seroconversion. RESULTS: TABULAR DATA, SEE ABSTRACT VOLUME. CMV Colitis was confirmed by biopsy, Immunoperoxidase stain and 10-fold increase in CMV IgG titer. CONCLUSIONS: 1. HIV morbidity and mortality figures will become proportionately worse with increased prevalence of this mutant strain. 2. DNA sequencing should be done on this strain, to find any exclusive mutant sequence, responsible for excessive virulence. It should be deleted or altered by genetic engineering to obtain possibly a benign viral strain, which could be helpful for vaccine research.
