Description The compression and decompression algorithms of the Advanced Signal Processor has been restructured and revised to be more robust and compact to optimize the compression and decompression operations. This revision will result in ealier version of compressed wave files being not compatible with the new Advanced Signal Processor codes. Solution/Action A set of new Advanced Signal Processor codes has been put up in the BBS of Creative Technology for all distributors and users to update their ADVANCED SIGNAL PROCESSOR codes (files found in the SB16\ASP directory). A DOS utility, WCONV.EXE is provided to allow user to convert their current wave files to the new format so that it can be played correctly. The following will help users/distributors to locate the file in the BBS: File Name : NEWASP.EXE File Size : 34987 bytes Location : Main conference & Distributor Common File area Remark All distributors and users are strongly encouraged to download the new ADVANCED SIGNAL PROCESSOR codes from the BBS. Users who have DISK.ID code SB16-STD-01 Revision 4 and ealier will have to update their existing compressed wave files and ADVANCED SIGNAL PROCESSOR codes. The DISK.ID file can be found in every SB16 installation disks.
