Subject

Scrolling display on TV and monitor when playing the Dinosaur/Space 
Adventure using TVCoder on 50 Hz video standard.

Description

User will encounter the above mentioned problem when attempting to play the 
above games using TVCoder on 50Hz video standard.  The reason being that 
when executing the program (KAV.EXE) on 50Hz video standard, it reprograms 
the VGA card's register into a non-standard VGA mode (or "mode X") thereby 
changing the frequency to 60Hz.  While the TVCoder when set to 50Hz is 
expecting a 50Hz signal from the VGA card, however receive a 60Hz signal 
instead, thus causing the display to scroll vertically because the V-Sync is out.

Solution/Action

There is no solution to this problem because TVCoder does not support Mode X 
(non-standard VGA mode).  Other VGA-To-Video/TV encoder cards will also 
have the same problem in Mode X.

This TSN amends and supersedes TSN issue no. 931202.
