Document Number 2100 Logitech Paintshow Plus Commonly asked questions 4/16/92 1) My printer is not on the printer support list. Will I be able to print from Paintshow Plus? Check the printer user's manual to see if your printer will emulate other printer types listed on the printer support list of PaintShow Plus. 2) How can I change the settings of Paintshow (i.e. Video, Printer, Ports)? Enter the following: a) Go to the PSPLUS directory CD\PSPLUS b) Type INSTALL [Enter] c) The screen will show your current configuration. To change, select: 2. CHANGE CURRENT SETTINGS. d) To change Video mode select: 1. SETUP VIDEO MODE and then select the appropriate video mode. To change Printers select: 2. SETUP PRINTER then select the appropriate printer. Next, enter the Target Drive Paintshow Plus is on. e) Once you've made the changes you desire, select: 4. SAVE CURRENT SETTINGS TO THE WORKING DIRECTORY. f) Then select 5. RETURN TO MAIN MENU g) Select Quit 3) Will PaintShow Plus be able to handle an 8 1/2" by 11" image at 300 dpi? No, there won't be enough available memory to hold an image that large. For example: on a system with 640 K RAM, the maximum amount of available RAM for an image is 256 K (maximum RAM left after Paintshow Plus is loaded) minus RAM used for resident software. Assuming a typical configuration with roughly 50 K of resident software, a picture with maximum length of 10.5 inches at a resolutioin of 200 dpi can be produced. RAM requirments can be calculated used the following formula: Length" x Width" x DPI ----------------------------------- 8 x 1024 4) What causes graphic disturbances, such as a disappearing mouse cursor, distorted menu text, vertical lines on the drawing board area, or screen erasing when you move the mouse cursor? Most of these problems are due to an incompatibility between the mouse driver and the video display (i.e., the mouse driver you are using doesn't support your video mode). If you have... | ...
