This board is also reported to be incompatible with ILIM386 and IEMM386. The network cannot be accessed when either ILIM386 or IEMM386 is loaded. APPLETALK AND TOPPS Customers report limited compatibility between the Inboard 386 and Appletalk. TOPPS is a network board and software that allows a DOS computer to be a node on an Appletalk network. TOPPS is made by Centrum Systems. Early versions of the TOPPS boards used both DMA and Interrupt 67. In order for these boards to work with Inboard 386, you must disable DMA and you can't use LIM expanded memory. More recent versions of the board don't use DMA or Interrupt 67. AT&T STARLAN NETWORK AT&T Information Systems has confirmed that Inboard 386 is compatible with Starlan Network as both workstation and file server. IBM PC-LAN Customers report they can't warm boot their computers, even with SPEED.SYS installed. Using the INBRDAT.SYS program solved this problem for at least one user. Contact Intel's customer support or bulletin board system (if you have a modem) to get the latest Inboard 386 software. IBM TOKEN RING Intel tested this and found it fully compatible. INTERLAN 5210/UTP Customer reports indicate this board is incompatible with the Inboard 386. The computer will not boot with both the Inboard 386 and this card installed. NOVELL Novell workstations are compatible with Inboard 386, although the Novell File server software won't work with ILIM386. Inboard 386 also works in an IBM PC AT or compatible used as the file server, but you must have the latest version of the Novell Keycard. Novell technical bulletin Number 160A, dated November 19, 1986, describes the keycard needed to work with Inboard 386. NOTE: To run the file server in Speed 4, you must first boot from a DOS diskette, change to Speed 4, and then invoke the Network. If you have an Inboard with the non-DOS jumper, set the jumper to non-DOS. Inboard 386 is incompatible with the Novell File Server computer. PROTEON 1300 NETWORK BOARD One dealer using this board, Inboard 386, on a Novell network reports network access times go from 5 seconds to 30 seconds, and the computer locks up during login.
