GARDEN PLANNER FOR WINDOWS VERSION 1.0 DEMO README FILE April 26, 1994 The following messages provide you with late breaking information on Garden Planner features. Please review them carefully, as you will learn important things about how the program operates, and other pertinent information. Non-Rectangular Planting Areas ------------------------------ Non-Rectangular planting areas may sometimes have difficulty in keeping planted graphics inside of them. If this occurs, simply redraw the plant grid using one of the standard tools like the planting tool, rectangle, rounded rectangle or elipse. Overflow of Graphics in Non-Rectangular Planted Areas ----------------------------------------------------- Changing a planted area to another plant option will sometimes leave parts of the old plant option spilling outside of the borders. You can go to the "Edit\Repaint" menu option and it will redraw your planted area correctly. Printing with Laser Printers or Ink Jet Printers ------------------------------------------------ Laser printers and Ink Jet printers have "unprintable regions" around the edge of the page. Typically, the unprintable region is between 1/8 & 1/4 of an inch. Each individual printer has its own alignment characteristics, which can affect these unprintable regions. Therefore, if you are trying to center a drawing on a page for one of these printers, it may require some experimentation on your part to determine what type of margins you need to give your drawing in order to center it on a page. The page size that you see in the drawing layout dialog indicates the maximum printable area for your currently selected default printer for the current paper size. It is recommended that you leave 1/8" to 1/4" margins around the drawing. Once your drawing is finished, you can group the whole drawing and move it up, down, right, or left to center it with respect to your individual printer. Labels and Planted Areas over Page Breaks ----------------------------------------- If your label in a planted area spills over a page break, some printer drivers require more "unprintable regions" in those areas, and may not print all of the characters of the label. To correct it, select and move the label to the right or left of the page break.
