NCSA Mosaic for Microsoft Windows User's Guide

Document Title and URL Bar and the NCSA Mosaic Logo

The title and URL of the current document appear in the left-hand portion of this region.
Document title and URL bar with the NCSA Mosaic logo

An NCSA Mosaic logo appears immediately to the right of the document title and URL bar. The logo is stationary while you are reading a document; it starts spinning when you click on a hyperlink and continues to spin as long as NCSA Mosaic is connecting to a server or working to transfer the file. As long as the logo is spinning, NCSA Mosaic is still working on the document; if the logo stops spinning and the new document does not appear, NCSA Mosaic was unable to locate or transfer the document. If the status bar is open during this process, more detailed messages will be displayed there.

If the document title and URL bar and the NCSA Mosaic logo are displayed, selecting Options ... Show Current URL/Title will hide them. Repeating the process will display them again.

You can open a new URL by editing the URL in the Document URL field and pressing Return.
