Hear and Spell for Windows

This program quizzes your child (or adult) on 
provided spellig words.

* A sound card is REQUIRED if you wish to record
  your own words.

speaker.drv is OK if you only want to play words.

A summary of the student's progress is maintained
in a report file (splsnd.rpt is the default).

To install the program, simply copy the
directory to your hard drive (e.g., c:\splsnd).

You can run the program by either double
clicking on splsnd.exe from the File
Manager or by adding splsnd.exe to
a group in the Program Manager.

To add words to the list file (default=splsnd.lst),
first, record your word and save it as a wave file
(e.g., word.wav), then edit splsnd.lst and add the
line following line to splsnd.lst:

word,word.wav 

where "word" is the correct spelling and "word.wav"
is the sound file associated with the word.

Words are randomly selected for each session up to
a maximum of three times per word.

Refer to splsnd.ini in the splsnd directory for 
additional options.

No additional DLLs or VBXs are needed.
