Directory Changer v 0.6c (1-21-94) Thanks for trying Directory Changer! If you have problems, questions or comments on this macro, the author may be reached on Compuserve, ID # 70412.1721. Copyright © 1992, 1993 Gibson B. Kennedy, all rights reserved. Installing the DirChanger Macro: Open the file WORDIR06.DOC under Word v6.0 and follow the instructions in the document. (You'll be asked to Double-click on the hilighted word "HERE" to copy the DirChanger macro to NORMAL.DOT. After copying, click Tools, Customize on the menu bar, then click Keyboard to pick a key combination to assign to the macro.) Installing the Help File: WORDRHLP.HLP: Copy this file to the same directory your Word templates are stored in. TROUBLE DURING INSTALLATION: The installation macro (activated by double-clicking the word HERE in WRDR06.DOC) and the DirChanger macro itself look for your NORMAL.DOT template in the following three places: 1. The USER-DOT-PATH or WORKGROUP-DOT-PATH specified in your WINWORD06.INI file. 2. The PROGRAMDIR specified in your WINWORD06.INI file. 3. The directory in which your WINWORD.EXE file is located. If the install macro can't find a file named NORMAL.DOT in any of those locations, it will fail and you will most likely see a Microsoft Word 6.0 error message. You may also get an error message if you are running Word from a network and NORMAL.DOT is stored on a read only drive. If this happens it is suggested that you specify your own template directory by adding a USER-DOT-PATH=yourdirhere line to your WINWORD06.INI file. This is best accomplished by choosing Tools, Options, File Locations and editing the User Templates item.
