Double-Clicker for MS Excel 4.0 by Roberto Boschin This program is formed with the macro-functions provided in Microsoft Excel 4.0 . The macro application is auto-installating and it looks for an initialising directory defined by MS Excel or by the user; it copies itself into this directory (if it exists) and it forms and adds a new tool inside the toolbar shown in MS Excel 4.0. This new tool looks like the pointer of the mouse when it has the cross shape. By clicking the tool it appears a dialog box which permits to set the double click of the mouse on differents functions: 1 Attach a macro (not available in this version) 2 Open a file 3 Exec an Excel command 4 Call the "About box" 5 Run a program 6 Fast quit without saving After having set the double click it appears a dialog box which confirms that the setting was successful and invites the user to test immediately the new function provided by this application. After this, only by double-clicking over an Excel sheet (that is when the pointer of the mouse has the cross shape) we could: 1 open a often used file which will be read by MS Excel. 2 exec an Excel command. Here I wrote a list of few commands because a lot of these are already available with the tools enclosed in the toolbars or in the personalize option. 3 call the "About" box, if there's someone interested in knowing something about the author. 4 run a program which the user often needs, or which is simply too boring to recall and to look for a lot of times. 5 quit Microsoft Excel very quickly but without the possibilty to save our work. If you choose this option you will have to be very careful in what you're doing and always remember that there won't be no message asking you to save the files, sheets or whatever where you worked, so YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE POSSIBILITY TO SAVE YOUR WORK IN MS EXCEL. IMPORTANT: The setting you give to the double click of the mouse will be saved and registered for the next sessions, so if you choose the option "Fast quit without saving" remember that you will find this function already set also in the next MS Excel session (if you don't change it) so if you double-click you will finish your MS Excel work session without having nothing saved: this is another warning to be remembered. Cancel function: Sometime we will need to use the normal functions related to the double-click, and this mostly happens when we work over a graphique sheet or with objects or in other situations. That's why I also gave the possibility to cancel the set we gave before to the double click, in order to make everything become normal. By clicking over the button "Cancel function" we will cancel the function we related to the double-click, until when we will want to change it again.
