SENIOR TOUR MATCH PLAY
                                   RULES

1.  Each member will begin the new Season with the following status:   

    WON'T PLAY

    To play in the the SENIOR TOUR MATCH PLAY, you must e-mail DufferDoug on  
    AOL and Doug Jensen elsewhere to state your intention to play Match Play.   
    Your status will be changed to:                                                     
    
    WILL PLAY

    Your status will change only if you: 
    
    1. E-mail as above and change your status
    2. Have a WILL PLAY status and you don't play(repeat 1 to change again)
    3. Have a WON'T PLAY status and play(only when filling a bracket)

    For instance, if your status is WILL PLAY and you played the Week 1 
    rounds but you will be out of town  when the Match
    Play is to be played, you just e-mail DufferDoug and change your 
    status to WON'T PLAY. Then when you can play again, just get your status
    change back to WILL PLAY. Hopefully this will keep members from 
    receiving an automatic win or loss.

    IMPORTANT! Make sure you put your opponents recorded game into
    your Links386 directory before you enter DOLINKS.

                         PLAYING A ELPL SENIOR TOUR ROUND

     DOLINKS is a very simple tournament interface that requires 
that you respond to a couple menus, then just relax and play golf.  
Here is the step by step procedure for running DOLINKS.

1) Once you've received an ELPLRNDS.ZIP file from ELPL, put
ELPLRNDS.ZIP into your Links386 Pro Directory, log onto your
Links386 direcory so you have the following prompt

C:\>LINKS386 

    OR

D:\>LINKS386

Then type the following:

                  DOLINKS <3 inits> (PRESS ENTER KEY)

                 Example: DOLINKS DMH (PRESS ENTER KEY)

Note: Multiple players can now play together from the same 
computer by typing the following:

                 Example: DOLINKS DMH DJJ (PRESS ENTER KEY)

REMEMBER, YOU MUST USE DOLINKS FOR ALL ELPL ROUNDS OR YOU WILL BE
DISQUALIFIED FOR THE TOURNAMENT.

2)  The screen will clear and you will see something like 
the following:


                  1 - Senior Tour
                  2 - Senior Tour w/Match Play
                  3 - Nike Tour 
                  4 - Nike Tour Team Play                 
                  5 - Pro Tour (Season 4, Jan 95)
                  6 - Pro Tour Skins Play (Season 4, Jan 95)
                  
                  Enter your choice(1, 2, 3, 4 or Esc)?

The ELPL SENIOR TOUR uses selection 2 for Match Play rounds

After you have made your selection, you will see something
like:


  Are you sure you want to play Senior Match round 1 (Y/N)?


IMPORTANT!  If you answer Y to the above prompt, there
is no turning back for this round.  You MUST play the
round at this point. 

If you answer yes, you will see this summary of your
upcoming round for Example:

  Make note of your Senior Match 1 competitor, course and tees...            
  
  You will be playing against: DJJ311AM.REC
  Name your recorded game: DMH311AS                                               
  IMPORTANT! It is the player's responsibility to set the correct settings
  and print scorecard and game stats at the end of the round. It
  doesn't matter if you don't have a printer or if it's off-line,
  just ignore the error message and do not retry.

  Also, according to ELPL rules, if you do not have the course
  shown above, you may always use the Harbour Town course as an
  alternate (same tees/conditions) with stroke compensation as 
  described therein.

  Saved shot format is as follows:

  DO NOT save any shots for Match, Pro or Team rounds

DOLINKS will now send you into Links386 to play your round.  

IMPORTANT! Make sure you play this round using player ELPL <initials>
example ELPL DMH.
All rounds **MUST** be played with your ELPL <your initials) Player
IMPORTANT! Make sure you chose your opponents recorded game before
you play

When you have finished your round, but are still in 
Links 386 Pro

When you have finished your round and exited Links 386 Pro, 
you will be reminded of the following:


  Remember to send in round DMH311.ZIP or DMH311AM.ZIP as 
  prescribed in the ELPL rules.

If you like to send in your rounds one at a time, send
in the file with the longer name (ex: DMH311AM.ZIP).  If
you run DOLINKS multiple times before sending in your rounds
send in the file with the shorter name (ex: DMH311.ZIP).

Here is an example of how to send your file.

1. After you exit Links386 Pro, you will be returned to the
   C:\>LINKS386 or D:\>LINKS386.
2. From here type the following DIR *.ZIP <Press Enter Key)
3. The following files will appear if I have played 2 ELPL 
   SENIOR TOUR matches.

   ELPLRNDS.ZIP
   DMH311AS.ZIP
   DMH311BS.ZIP
   DMH311.ZIP

   DMH311 contains both DMH311AS.ZIP and DMH311BS.ZIP so this is the one I 
would sent. I would then type:   

   COPY DMH311.ZIP C:\WAOL\DOWNLOAD (PRESS THE ENTER KEY)

   Substitute WAOL\DOWNLOAD for whatever directory your Communications 
Software uses for uploading files.

IMPORTANT!  After you have sent your .ZIP files back to ELPL,
it is recommended that you delete them.  This will eliminate
the confusion of sending in rounds multiple times and
lengthening the amount of time you are logged on to AOL or other BBS.

Again to do this you would type:

     DEL DMH311AS.ZIP (PRESS ENTER KEY)

     Repeat the process for DMH311BS.ZIP and DMH311.ZIP

YOU MUST **NEVER** DELETE ELPLRNDS.ZIP OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED

YOU MUST **NEVER** DELETE YOUR ROUND ZIPS UNTIL THE PROPER ONES HAS BEEN
SENT TO THE ELPL OFFICERS

                           SENIOR TOUR MATCH PLAY RULES


1.  After round 2 of the regular weeks tournament is played, I will choose 
    1 of the 2 rounds played at random to be used for Match Play 
2.  Will seed players by the SCRATCH 2nd round leaderboard. The 4 lowest 
    scratch scores will be matched up 1 vs 3 and 2 vs 4. The next 4 lowest
    scratch scores will also be matched up 5 vs 7 and 6 vs 8 and so on. The
    winners of Week 1 Match Play will play each other in the following week
    (Week 2)for the bracket championship as follows.

3.  After round 4 of the regular weeks tournament is played, I will choose 
    1 of the 2 rounds played at random to be used for Match Play  
4.  The winners of Week 1 Match play will recieve opponents recorded game.

    The Bracket will look like this:

5.  Players who (1) played the round chosen and (2)   
    have a status of WILL PLAY, will be sent their opponents recorded game  
    they will play against. This will be attached to E-mail.

    You will recieve 2 messages by e-mail. They are:

    1.  WARNING YOUR MATCH PLAY OPP. FOLLOWS(Warning file)
    2.  **Your Match Play Opponent**        (Recorded game attached)

6.  Download your opponents recorded game.
7.  Copy your opponents recorded game(.rec) into your Links386 Directory.
8.  Remember DEADLINE SUNDAY NOON.

9.  Will keep the following standings:

    SENIOR TOUR MATCH PLAY

    Match Play Championship(If match is tied for example each player won 4 
                 (holes with 10 halved will use lowest score as tiebreaker)
    Match Play 2nd Places and Match Play Tournaments played for example
