ELPL NIKE TOUR
                              TEAM PLAY RULES

     Starting Tournament 12, DOLINKS will be revised to allow 
Nike Tour Team Play. You are not required to have a WILL PLAY
or WON'T PLAY status for Team Play. You only requirement is
to have the Team Play Round turned in by the deadline. You will
be matched up with a partner after all Round 1 Team Play rounds
are received. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO PLAY ROUND 2 TEAM PLAY
IF YOUR TEAM WON ROUND 1. YOUR TEAM MEMBER IS COUNTING ON YOU
TO COMPLETE YOUR ROUND FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP OF YOUR BRACKET.






















































                         PLAYING A ELPL TEAM PLAY ROUND

     DOLINKS is a very simple tournament interface that requires 
that you respond to a couple menus, then just relax and play golf.  
Here is the step by step procedure for running DOLINKS.

1) Once you've received an ELPLRNDS.ZIP file from the ELPL, put
ELPLRNDS.ZIP into your Links386 Pro Directory, log onto your
Links386 direcory so you have the following prompt

C:\>LINKS386 

    OR

D:\>LINKS386

Then type the following:

                  DOLINKS <3 inits> (PRESS ENTER KEY)

                 Example: DOLINKS DMH (PRESS ENTER KEY)

Note: Multiple players can now play together from the same 
computer by typing the following:

                 Example: DOLINKS DMH DJJ (PRESS ENTER KEY)

REMEMBER, YOU MUST USE DOLINKS FOR ALL ELPL ROUNDS OR YOU WILL BE
DISQUALIFIED FOR THE TOURNAMENT.

2)  The screen will clear and you will see something like 
the following:


                  1 - Senior Tour
                  2 - Senior Tour w/Match Play
                  3 - Nike Tour 
                  4 - Nike Tour Team Play                 
                  5 - Pro Tour (Season 4, Jan 95)
                  6 - Pro Tour Skins Play (Season 4, Jan 95)
                  
                  Enter your choice(1, 2, 3, 4 or Esc)?

The ELPL TEAM PLAY uses selection 4.


After you have made your selection, you will see something
like:


  Are you sure you want to play Nike Team round 1 w/conditions(Y/N)?


IMPORTANT!  If you answer Y to the above prompt, there
is no turning back for this round.  You MUST play the
round at this point. 

If you answer yes, you will see this summary of your
upcoming round for Example:

  Make a note of the following Nike Team round 1 conditions...                         
  
  Course: TROON NORTH

  IMPORTANT! It is the player's responsibility to set the correct settings
  and print scorecard and game stats at the end of the round. It
  doesn't matter if you don't have a printer or if it's off-line,
  just ignore the error message and do not retry.

  Also, according to ELPL rules, if you do not have the course
  shown above, you may always use the Harbour Town course as an
  alternate (same tees/conditions) with stroke compensation as 
  described therein.

  Saved shot format is as follows:

  DO NOT save any shots for Match, Pro or Team rounds

example ELPL DMH.

Links 386 Pro

When you have finished your round and exited Links 386 Pro, 
you will be reminded of the following:


  Remember to send in round DMH311.ZIP or DMH311AT.ZIP as 
  prescribed in the ELPL rules.

If you like to send in your rounds one at a time, send
in the file with the longer name (ex: DMH311AN.ZIP).  If
you run DOLINKS multiple times before sending in your rounds
send in the file with the shorter name (ex: DMH311.ZIP).

Here is an example of how to send your file.

1. After you exit Links386 Pro, you will be returned to the
   C:\>LINKS386 or D:\>LINKS386.
2. From here type the following DIR *.ZIP <Press Enter Key)
3. The following files will appear if I have played 2 ELPL 
   NIKE TOUR matches.

   ELPLRNDS.ZIP
   DMH311AN.ZIP
   DMH311BN.ZIP
   DMH311.ZIP

   DMH311 contains both DMH311AN.ZIP and DMH311BN.ZIP so this is the one I 
would sent. I would then type:   

   COPY DMH311.ZIP C:\WAOL\DOWNLOAD (PRESS THE ENTER KEY)

   Substitute WAOL\DOWNLOAD for whatever directory your Communications 
Software uses for uploading files.

IMPORTANT!  After you have sent your .ZIP files back to ELPL,
it is recommended that you delete them.  This will eliminate
the confusion of sending in rounds multiple times and
lengthening the amount of time you are logged on to AOL or other BBS.

Again to do this you would type:

     DEL DMH311AN.ZIP (PRESS ENTER KEY)

     Repeat the process for DMH311AN.ZIP and DMH311.ZIP

YOU MUST **NEVER** DELETE ELPLRNDS.ZIP OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED

YOU MUST **NEVER** DELETE YOUR ROUND ZIPS UNTIL THE PROPER ONES HAS BEEN
SENT TO THE ELPL OFFICERS

                        TEAM PLAY RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. When you enter DOLINKS, to play Team Play press 4. You can 
   play Team Play whenever you want as long as it is turned in
   by the deadline of THE 1ST SUNDAY NOON.
2. No special shots are allowed during Team Play. 
3. The Team Play Bracket will be sent out Monday or Tuesday 
   which will show who won 1st round Team Play. If you lost
   your 1st round, you can play the 2nd round but please do
   not turn it in. If you won your 1st round Team Play,
   please play your 2nd round and send in
   by the deadline which is THE 2ND SUNDAY NOON.

   There will be 2 forms or Team Play for the remainder of Season
   3, Handicap Team Play and State Team Play. They are explained 
   below.

                          HANDICAP TEAM PLAY

   When all Team Play 1st round files are sent in, I will match 
team members as follows:

   Highest handicap and Lowest Handicap=Team
   2nd Highest and 2nd Lowest Handicaps=Team
   3rd Highest and 3rd Lowest Handicaps=Team
   etc.....
   etc.....

   The handicaps from each team member is added together to produce
   a Team Handicap. The highest handicap will be the scratch handicap
   and all other Team handicaps will have their scores adjusted.
   For instance:

   Team A has a Team Handicap of -20(Highest Team Handicap)
   Team B has a Team Handicap of -18

   Team B will have 2 strokes deducted from each round which is the
   total score of the 2 members added together. For example:

   Team A  1 member shoots 62  2nd member shoots 60  Total 122
   Team B  1 member shoots 63  2nd member shoots 60  Total 123-2=121

   There will be 2 tiebreakers:

   1.  The member with the lowest score among the 2 tied teams wins
       for his team.
   2.  Coin Flip.


    The Bracket will look like this:

                             STATE TEAM PLAY

   When all Team Play 1st round files are sent in, I will match 
team members by the State they are from. Here are some examples:

   2 members play that are from Ohio. The will be matched together.

   3 members from Wisconsin play. Will match the closest 2
   handicaps as team members and put the 3rd member in a 
   pool of members playing who are the only members from a 
   state.

   After matching state members, I will match remaining members by
   geography. For example 1 member from Kansas and 1 member from
   Oklahoma will be matched. If a new member from Kansas joins,
   the current member from Kansas will be pulled from his team
   and matched with the new member from Kansas. The remaining 
   member from Oklahoma will then be matched from a new member
   from Oklahoma if there is one or another member from another
   state.

   Family members can be asked to be matched together also

   All members from the same state matched up into teams will 
remain together through Season 3. If one member from a team
cannot play a certain tournament, the team will not participate 
that tournament. If a member drops out of the ELPL, I will take
the remaining member and match him or her up with someone else.
