AMS is a very in-depth simulation of the Apollo missions. It recreates the manned lunar missions in finite detail. You are in control of every part of the mission, from navigation of the space craft to operation of the lunar rover. This program is NOT a game, it is a SIMULATION. There are no points to score, you either survive your mission or you and your crew become space dust. It is very difficult to learn, let alone complete. It uses the TEXT display mode to show you all of the various controls you have, and a small (text) display window shows you a view of the lunar surface. There are no graphics screens to help spur your imagination. The disk contains a number of documentation files covering all the various areas of concern to an Apollo commander. Subjects included beyond the operating instructions include a description of the physical models used to develop AMS, and a tutorial on orbital mechanics and related physics. Usage: Education and Entertainment System requirements: 256K memory, two disk drives (a hard disk is ideal), and the 8087 math coprocessor. An 8087 math coprocessor chip is REQUIRED to run this software. This is not a standard feature on most PC's, so you should consult your system paperwork to ensure that you have this chip before you try AMS. How to start: Type: README (press enter).
