SOME BACKGROUND ON THE GAME:

ADVENTURE IN HUMONGOUS CAVE is based on the 550 point version of Colossal Cave
-- or, as it is sometimes called, Adventure 550.  The original game was
developed by Will Crowther, Don Woods and David Platt and has entered the
"public domain."

Beginning with the 550 point version of Colossal Cave, HUMONGOUS CAVE has been
further expanded and enhanced to encompass 300 locations and over 200
creatures, treasures and puzzles totaling 1000 points.  It is believed to be
largest text adventure game currently available on any microcomputer.


HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:

HUMONGOUS CAVE requires 512 K of memory and 1.2 meg of disk space.  For best
results, a hard disk is recommended.  However, the game can be played on a
floppy as long as it has 1.2 meg of space -- i.e., either a 1.2 meg 5 1/4 high
density floppy or a 1.4 meg 3 1/2 floppy will also work fine.


SPECIAL PRIZE AVAILABLE:

You can win $100 by being the first person to discover 10 "secret words" that
are hidden throughout this adventure!!!

As you play the game, you will come upon secret words, numbered 1 through 10.
Just write them down.  When you have found all 10 secret words, mail your

BECOME A REGISTERED USER:

ADVENTURE IN HUMONGOUS CAVE is being made available as Shareware.  This means
you can try it before you buy it.  Play the game and pay the $15 registration
fee only if you think the game is worth it.

Registered users will receive either: (1) the latest version of the game, or
(2) a 100 plus page walkthru/solution for their $15 registration fee.  Or
for $20, you can get both.

HUMONGOUS CAVE was created using the Adventure Game Toolkit or AGT.  This
adventure game "authoring" or development system is also available as
Shareware for registration fees starting as low as $20.  So, if you want to
"roll-your-own" adventure games consider becoming a registered user of AGT.
