Steve's Library for Turbo-C. 05-09-89: This is version 1.51, which is a maintenance release to 1.50. Several bugs have been fixed. I am no longer supporting Version 1.5 of the Turbo-C Compiler. If you haven't upgraded to 2.0 yet, you certainly should. Actually, the LIB files compiled with version 1.5 work with version 2.0, so I should think the reverse is true as well. The file SMLIBTC.DOC should be printed out. This will give directions for printing further documentation on each function, and installation of the library. All ASM files are now made for use with the Borland Turbo Assembler. Support for MASM has been dropped. *************************************************************************** All files, uncompacted, now take 3-360K disks. In order to hold disk and shipping costs in line, I am now using the LHARC archiving utility by Haruyasu Yoshizaki. This excellent utility makes the smallest archives of any archiver, and also makes them self-extracting. All files are now in self-extracting format. They are: SHARE.EXE - All docs, utils, and S library This file and/or its contents is the ONLY part of "Steve's Library" which is considered ShareWare. It may be distributed as indicated in the instruction manual. LIBS.EXE - C, M, H, L libraries. SOURCE.EXE - Full source code and makefiles. Each file will self-extract to its components. It is NOT NECESSARY to have or use any un-archiving program. Make sure you are in the hard-disk subdirectory in which you wish to place the files. For LIBS.EXE, this will be the directory in which the Turbo-C libraries are contained. For SHARE.EXE, this will be a temporary directory, since the doc files can be erased after printing. Be sure to move the SMTCS.LIB to the library directory, and the *.H files to the \include directory. The SOURCE.EXE archive need not be unpacked unless you wish to view or alter the source code. The file CONTENTS.TXT lists the contents of each archive file. Look at this before unarchiving anything, and be sure that you have enough room on your disk. After unarchiving, remove the EXE files as they aren't need any more. Of course, always protect your original distribution disk! With this change comes the requirement of a hard disk. However, if you're using Turbo-C you probably have one anyway. None of the archive files will self-extract onto a 360K floppy disk.
