*********************************************************************** Chartmaster version 6.05 *********************************************************************** From: Lloyd Borrett President, Melbourne PC User Group, Melbourne, Australia. Sysop of the "PC Connection" IBBS on +61 3 528 3750. CCITT V.21 type modem required. 300 baud only. I downloaded A.S.P.'s unprotection mechanisms for 'Signmaster' 5.04 and 'Chartmaster' 6.04 on Monday 26th November 1985. Wouldn't you know it I had versions 5.05 and 6.05 respectively. I've retrofitted a patch that seems to be okay. CHARTMASTER 6.05 ---------------- 1. Rename CM1.EXE CM1 2. DEBUG CM1 3. D CS:A51 You should see 75 03 E9 09 00 E CS:A51 90 90 EB CF 06 W Q 4. Rename SIGN SIGN.EXE NOTE: ----- 1. Still requires a diskette in the drive, but not the 'KEY' diskette. 2. I wasn't able to determine what the second part of A.S.P.'s method did, and they seem to be working fine without it. *********************************************************************** Chartmaster version 6.2 *********************************************************************** Unprotecting ChartMaster version 6.2 - 1/19/87 - by Row Jimmy (with thanks to the Freebie Fixer) Version 6.2 uses the same copy protection as 6.1, but in a different place .. follow these instructions: copy cm1b.exe to cm1b.xxx debug cm1b.xxx -s 000 ffff 75 68 you will see something like XXXX:CCB7 type -e ccb7 75.eb -w -q rename cm1b.xxx to cm1b.exe and you're off and running! ** copy protection is a foolish game ** ** don't play the game **
