This Macro will extract addresses from PackRat and paste them in your AmiPro document. It has been tried successfully with PackRat Version 2.0, release 285 and higher, it did not work, however with release 276. (in any case you will be upgrading to release 299 if you update now for windows 3.0 and to version 3.0 of PackRat a little later. It was tested with AmiPro version 1.2 but none of the new macro commands are used, so it should work with older versions too. Copy Pack.smm and Pack.ext to your macros directory. It works as follows: when you execute it, a dialog box prompts you for at least an initial of the name or the company. The more information you enter, the more narrow the answer. The more entries your list has, the more precise your input should be. After you press [ENTER], a new dialog-box appears showing you the number of matches (i.e. all entries fitting the initials or names you entered) and the first entry. Now you can choose: 1) to paste it, 2) to see the next "match", 3) to see the previous (if you have seen more than the first), 4) to start a new search or 5) to cancel. It is not a highly sophisticated one but it will extract addresses and even ignore (or rather delete) empty entries and, should your mode of entering the information be different than mine, it shoud be easy to modify. Daniel Bar-Shalom, 73517,3526 PS; I created the dialog box by modifying an .EXT file used by another macro using Whitewater's Windows Resource Toolkit.
