== HP PROVIDES FREE INTELLIFONT =================================

Intellifont-for-Windows 3.0 is a combination screen/printer driver 
that is optimized for printing in Windows 3.0 in standard or 
enhanced mode to a LJIII or IIID printer.  The driver generates 
on-the-fly screen fonts in Windows to match the CompuGraphic 
scalable typefaces resident in the LJIII printer family offering 
true WYSIWYG. Also included is an updated version (3.7) of the
LJIII/IIID Windows printer driver.

HP has made the program freely available to Compuserve users that 
download the four files L3WIN3.ZIP and IFW1.ZIP through IFW3.ZIP.
The program can also be obtained, free of charge, from HP's driver
distribution group by calling (303) 353-7650.


== Q+E FOR ORACLE TO BE ANNOUNCED ===============================

Pioneer Software of Raleigh, NC will announce a version of their
database query program specifically for Oracle at this week's
NetWorld show. Pioneer publishes other editions of Q+E, including
a limited version which is included with the current release of
Microsoft Excel. Q+E is used to query database files and bring the
results into Excel. Supported formats include dBase and others.

== 80586 DETAILS SURFACING ======================================

Information released by Intel Corp. to other manufacturers has
provided details of the upcoming 586 processor chip. Code named
"P5", the next generation of CPU sports a 64 bit internal and
external data path, 66Mhz clock speed, multiple 386-compatible
instruction units, as well as built-in software for diagnostics 
and debugging.

While providing performance four times higher than a 486 at 33MHz,
the 586 also retains backward compatibility with 8088/86 software.
With multiple 386-compatible instruction units built into the chip,
Intel is using the "super scaler" approach now evident in most 
RISC chips. In addition, the 586 is expected to implement dual 8K
caches, one each for data and program instructions. 

According to official Intel information, the 586 chip is expected 
to hold between 3 and 5 million transistors. Intel officials
confirmed that the 586 will be available in computer systems "next
year". 


== WORDSTAR SIGNS FOR LEGACY ====================================

Wordstar has bought it's way into the Windows WP market by signing
an OEM deal with NBI Inc. of Boulder, Colorado. Wordstar Legacy is
to be available by March 1. The company also licensed rights to
NBI's source code and intends to release a new version before year 
end. Wordstar Legacy will include a conversion utility for Wordstar
6.0 documents. List price for Wordstar Legacy is US $495.00.
