TITLE: "The Specified Drive Is a Removable Drive" Appears Installing PRODUCT: Ami Pro 2.0 DATE: 07-Oct-1991 PROBLEM: Attempting to install Ami Pro 2.0 results in the message "The specified drive is a removable drive". Choosing OK results in the message "Not enough disk space on specified drive. Continue Anyway?". SOLUTION: The Ami Pro 2.0 installation program checks the media descriptor byte of the specified drive to determine what type of drive is specified for the installation destination. This is done to provide an alert message in the event that a floppy drive is specified (Ami Pro cannot be installed on floppy disks). Any drive which is recognized by the system as removable media will generate these messages during the Ami Pro installation, even drives such as Bernoulli boxes. As long as the specified drive is an accessible hard drive (removable cartridge is physically positioned in the drive, for example) with sufficient available disk space, the Ami Pro installation will proceed by choosing OK to the above two messages.
