Analyse
This program is a simple program for searching through HTTP
logs (produced by the HTTPD server by emwacs) and
producing tive output files:
PAGE.DAT Lists all the pages along
with the number of people who have accessed the page,
number of people who moved to the page from another within
your page set and the size of the page (if found). Analyse
will look in the same diretory as your httpd server for the
files.
USER.DAT Lists all the machines
that have accessed the WWW Server along with the number of
accesses made from that machine and the number of times that
machine has visited your server.
WEEK.DAT A analyses of WWW usage on
a weekly format. For each week, three figures are produced,
the number of New Users (people who have never visited your
server), Users (people who have visited during the week),
and Accesses (number of pages sent out).
DAILY.DAT
Simply a list of accesses in 10 minute intervals thoughout
the day. This will allow you to see the time your server
is most in use.
HOSTS A list of all the hosts and their IP addresses
as they are collected. Each time the program is run, this file
is read and updated.

people who are already loooking at this servers WWW pages.
- The file index.htm has been read 366 times.
Of these, 162 came from else where - this means that people
have either saved the page in their "Bookmarks" or that
other WWW pointers point to this page.
- The file index.html does not exist and four
poeple have asked for it - but they got the incorrect reference
from elsewhere.
- The file novembe.htm has been requested once
but from within our pages. This implies that somewhere
there is an incorrect URL which need to be put right.

From this listing you can see
- The internet names have been reversed so that the list
can (and is) ordered.
- The host dismayl.demon.co.uk has requested 410
pages from the WWW server, and has been to the server 36
different times. Such a high usage suggests that this machine
is a WWW caching server.
- The host dougal.demon.co.uk has been to the WWW
Server only once.
- The host dream.demon.co.uk has been to the WWW
server 3 times.
