Thank you for trying TimeCard. TimeCard is designed for small businesses to assist in keeping time and attendance information about your employees. TimeCard records and calculates regular & overtime hours worked and hours employees were not at work, by category. It automatically calculates benefit hours employees earn based on information entered about your policies, and checks whether the employee has earned the benefit hours when taken. TimeCard also includes context sensitive on-line help to assist in entering and reporting time and attendance information. TimeCard has been designed to run under Windows or Windows for Workgroups, but can be run under Windows NT or Windows 95. Installation ------------ To install TimeCard, just run SETUP.EXE. The setup program will prompt you for the information it needs to install the program. TimeCard Files -------------- As more and more programs use the common Windows libraries (DLL files) and Microsoft and other software vendors release different versions of those libraries, it is becoming increasingly important to know EXACTLY which version of each file you are using and/or installing onto your computer. Different versions of a file may not work with a particular software package. To that end, below are all of the files and the relevant the version numbers of the files that TimeCard will attempt to install on your computer: Application Directory (typically C:\TimeCard): timecard.exe - TimeCard application timecard.hlp - on-line help file for TimeCard timecard.mdb - TimeCard database file timecard.ldb - TimeCard database file register.txt - TimeCard registration form readme.txt - this file also installed in the application directory are the following DLL files: msaes110.dll 04/28/93 Version 1.00.000 - Microsoft Jet Database engine msajt112.dll 03/24/94 Version 1.99.1605 - Microsoft Jet Database engine msajt200.dll 11/20/94 Version 2.50.1117 - Microsoft Jet Database engine msfinx.dll 04/28/93 Version 1.00.000 - various Visual Basic functions vbdb300.dll 02/01/95 Version 03.00.0530 - Jet Database engine vbrun300.dll 05/11/93 Version 03.00.0538 - Visual Basic interpreter Windows Directory timecard.ini - TimeCard initialization file Windows\System Directory (note that if you have a newer version of the file than listed below, TimeCard will NOT install it's version of the file): ctl3dv2.dll 06/10/94 Version 2.05 - Microsoft 3D Windows controls cmdialog.vbx 04/28/93 Version 2.1.0.5 - Visual Basic Common Dialog control grid.vbx 09/16/94 Version 03.00.0538 - Visual Basic Grid control msmasked.vbx 04/28/93 Version 3.0.0.2 - Visual Basic Masked Edit control threed.vbx 07/16/93 Version 3.0.1.0 - Sheridan Software 3D Widgets If other programs on your computer use one or more of the files installed into your Windows\System directory, you may wish to make a backup of the file before running the TimeCard setup. TimeCard setup will not overwrite a newer versions of the file in your Windows\System directory, but an update of an older version may cause another program to fail to work properly. Windows 3.1x users must depend on the date of the file for a version. Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT, and Windows 95 provide the version number of a file as well as the date. In Windows for Workgroups and Windows NT, click on the File/Properties... menu option in File Manager, while the file is highlighted. In Windows 95, right click on the file name in Explorer, click on the Properties menu item, and then select the Version page to get the version number. If you are having problems doing this, please consult your Windows documentation for further instructions. Shareware --------- This version of TimeCard is shareware, and is time/usage limited. This means that you have access to all of the functions in the registered version, but that data entry will only be available for a limited time (45 days or 15 uses, which ever is longer), while you try out the program. If your evaluation period expires, you will still be able to view and report on any information you entered into TimeCard, but you will not be able to enter new data until you have registered the program.
