SiteBuilder X v1.2

Last Minute Information

Version 1.2 addresses some minor errors that were discovered. The program has also been downsized. The syntax colored text has been completely removed. Other functionality that seemed to do nothing but lag the program down has also been disgarded.

Some people have been reporting an error "31037 - Error loading from file." when the program is first started. This error has to do with some support files not being updated correctly. Remember to quit all programs before running the installation. This includes any anti-virus software or any program that may be running in your System Tray. In some instances your anti-virus software will be using files that need to be replaced.

Smart Tags have been integrated into the program. The bold, italic, underline and center toolbar items now have tag sensing functionality. Smart Tags know your current HTML code and insert there tags accordingly. A small example below illustrates how smart tags work.

<B>This is a sample line of HTML code</B> </PLAINTEXT> Notice how the text is enclosed in a Bold tag. Lets say your editing this file and you have &quot;sample line&quot; selected in the editor. When you click the Bold toolbar item the line will then read: <PLAINTEXT> <B>This is a </B>sample line<B> of HTML code</B> </PLAINTEXT> Smart Tags adapt to there environment. Since you were already in a Bold tag the Smart Tags turns it off and then back on.<br> Plans on integrating Smart Tags into all the programs tag functionality is in the making, so feedback on this would be appreciated. <hr width=90%> <A NAME="intro"> <SPAN CLASS="label">Introduction</SPAN> <p> SiteBuilder X is a HTML authoring tool designed for <i>Rapid Site Development</i>. The program was designed to give web authors an environment where they can quickly edit and create web pages, while maintaining a site oriented approach to HTML. Featuring a built in Windows Explorer™ window, SiteX makes inserting links, images, scripts, audio and video as easy as Drag and Drop. </p> <p> Although some HTML authoring tools are included, the programs main focus is site development. This program does not assume your an idiot. You would be best to have some knowledge of the HTM-Language. If you are just starting out with HTML then I suggest downloading Microsofts HTML Authors Reference(<a href="#links" onMouseOver="self.status='HTML Links'">links</a>), a great help file no HTMLer should be without. Once you learn basic syntax Tag Popups will show tag reference as you type. So you'll never have to leave the HTML editor to go looking for the help file. </p> <HR WIDTH=75%> <a name="req"> <SPAN CLASS="label">Requirements</SPAN> <br> <DIR> <B>Minimum:</B><br> <LI>486 25mhz <LI>4megs RAM <LI>16 color display <LI>Mouse Pointing device, with right button <LI>Windows 95 <LI>Visual Basic Support Files </DIR><br> <DIR> <b>Recommended:</b><br> <LI>Pentium 100+mhz <LI>16 megs RAM <LI>16 million color display </DIR> <p>This program has not yet been tested on Windows NT.
