Talk_Too_Me! Web Chat Server for Windows 3.1x, 95 & NT Type web servers.

If your current Windows Type Web Server uses the following:

<drive>:\httpd (web server Root(<WebRoot>))
        <WebRoot>\cgi-win (Sub-Directory where cgi(s) (*.exe) are kept)
        <WebRoot>\htdocs (Sub-Directory where your Home Page starts)
        <WebRoot>\htdocs\images (Sub-Directory where all images are kept)
        
        NOTE:
             If your Windows Web server has the above file structure,
             then Talk_Too_Me! will work for you...
             Simply follow the install:
Install:
        1)..Unzip tlktme14.zip 
        2)..Copy *.gif <drive>:\httpd\htdocs\images
        3)..Copy talktome.exe <drive>:\httpd\cgi-win
        4)..Copy chatmenu.dat <drive>:\
        5)..Copy vbrun300.dll <drive>:\windows\system
        6)..Copy talktome.key <drive>:\(Not In Zip!)

Setup:            
        1)..Edit Chatmenu.dat with notepad and name your chat rooms.
            Remember one name per line.
        2)..Edit Your HTML Pages so that they run talk_too_me!
            <a href="http://www.my.com/cgi-win/talktome.exe">WEB Chat</a>
        3)..Once users start posting messages in chat, you will see
            *.cht files appear in your <drive>:\
            directory, these are for the different chat rooms and
            contain the text the users typed in.
            You might want to delete these from time to time as
            they can grow very large.
        4)..You must enable DNS Reverse lookups within your
            Web Server Software. Robert Denny's Windows HTTPD v1.4c
            allows you to do this on the command line.
Notes:
       Unregistered copies only allow one (1) chat room...

       When we get a valid approval we will cut your key and present 
       it to you as a Downloadable Click. 
       Simply Click and Download with your Browser.
       You will need to unzip talktome.zip -s
       You will then be prompted for a password, simply type in
       your credit card number and talktome.key will appear!
       The Price To Register $25.00 U.S. 
       Registered versions will be allowed 10 Chat Rooms
       and our advertisement will be gone.

History:
        v1.2 to v1.3 5/20/1997
        Reason for change:
        We now store the chatmenu.dat, *.cht and talktome.key in the
        root directory of the users hard-drive due to security reasons!
        Found people trying to get our customers talktome.key
        file out of <drive>:\<WebRoot>:\cgi-win\ of course they could not
        get the key, but would cause a server 500 error.
        This brings us to version 1.3

        v1.3 to v1.4 6/09/1997
        Reason for change:
        We found a problem where as windows is not always located in
        the path c:\windows and this would cause our program to choke and
        produce a message stating that the users did not select a chat room.
        We fixed this problem which nows brings us to version 1.4
        We also updated TALKTOME.TXT to now include instructions for
        Webmasters to activate DNS Reverse Lookups.
