WHAT IS STB: Search The Bible is a Windows'(tm) application program to search a specially formatted version of the King James version of the Bible. Written in Visual Basic it installs, and uses, the run-time module VBRUN300.DLL. The files and where installed are: File: Where Installed: STB.EXE. C:\STB STB-HELP.WRI C:\STB (OT/NT books) C:\STB VBRUN300.DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM SETUPKIT.DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM SU-STB2.EXE C:\WINDOWS STB.HLP C:\STB Note: You do not need all the books of the Bible to evaluate. That's why Genesis is the only book in the file STB101.ZIP. The Genesis name in the main screen is also the only one in green because of this fact. The more books installed the more names will turn green (enabled). For more books of the Bible you need to download the files STB2.ZIP through STB6.ZIP. LEGAL DISCLAIMER: The author of Search The Bible is not responsible for any losses caused by use, or misuse, of above said product in any State of the Union in these United States or any Country. TIPS ON USAGE (Help): FLOPPYS: In the upper right-hand corner of the main screen there is a Disk display box and a Directory display box. If you move books to floppys, to conserve hard disk space, you can access them by clicking the arrow on the Disk box and clicking the drive letter. If you move the New Testament Books to their own subdirectory -you can change to the sub. by double-clicking on their sub. in the Directory list box. SEARCHING: The type of search performed by STB is: a search for the word as you entered the word plus a search with the first letter capitalized and any suffixes. ie: Entering -ark- will find "ark" as well as "Ark", Entering -right- will also retrieve "righteousness". Anything immediately following a word will be retrieved. That's because there are some punctuations after some words, ie: ,(commas) as in "ark," . To eliminate this use a space after a word, ie: -right(SPACE)-, if you don't want to retrieve verses with words like "righteousness". SAVING You can save to disk any search by placing the verses in Print Queue and then clicking on the SAVE button. Conversely you can retrieve any search by clicking on the LOAD button in the main menu. Searches saved as files are saved with the extension ".STB" . Note: You do not add the extension to your file name. The program generates it for you. WHAT WENT WRONG: Names of your Windows directory have been changed from the installment names of "\Windows" and "\Windows\System". Books are in a different subdirectory and you didn't change the working directory by using the Directory box in the upper right-hand corner. VBRUN300.DLL was deleted, the run-time module needed by STB to work. Should be located in the \Windows\System directory. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM not in your PATH. Consult your DOS manual on: PATH, what it is and how to change the DOS PATH. This Is Freeware: Please donate your time/money to your local church. HOW TO UNINSTALL: IN WINDOWS: With STB desk top selected, (not opened), in the Program Manager use Delete in the File menu. This will delete the Group STB. IN DOS: Remove the following files in their respective subdirectories. \STB\STB.EXE \STB\(any books) \STB\STB.HLP \STB\STB-HELP.WRI \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VBRUN300.DLL (good for all Visual Basic 3.0 programs) \C:WINDOWS\SU-STB2.EXE \C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SETUPKIT.DLL Consult your DOS manual on how to remove Files and Directories. NOTE: In DOS 6.0 and higher you can use "DELTREE". Read the on line help by typing: HELP DELTREE.
