ALLVUE V2.10 - README.TXT INSTALLATION NOTE - OUTDATED SYSTEM FILES If you have a previous version of ALLVUE, it is best if you first bring up the Control Panel, double click on Add/Remove programs, and remove ALLVUE from your system. The de-installation procedure is automatic and quick. If you do not remove ALLVUE, you may find you are running an older version at the end of this installation. Depending upon how often or rarely you install other applications that update your system files, you may receive a warning that some of your system files are out of date. Should this occur, the installation procedure is notifying you that ALLVUE cannot run with the older system (DLL) files. To proceed, the installation process must update those files and then reboot. After the reboot, restart the installation procedure. With the updated files in place, the installation of ALLVUE should proceed very quickly and easily taking less than two minutes. Windows NT Users: Service Pack 2 should be installed on your system to run all current software from Microsoft and others. 1. ALLVUE is a multiple image file manager created to help those who deal with Web-pages, photos, graphic designs, clip art, and other image types to easily and quickly sort, cull, search, and locate multiple image files. It is 32-bit software application that runs on Windows 95 and Windows NT. ALLVUE displays fifteen image files at once. You can scroll forward or backwards through hundreds or thousands of image files in fifteen image increments with a single click. ALLVUE will copy, rename, delete, and print image files. You can choose to work on screen or print pages of single or all fifteen images at a time (in color if you have a color printer) to work off-line. For each image, you can choose to display file name, image size, number of colors, last date modified or the size of the file in bytes. And by clicking on an image, ALLVUE will zoom in to make it fill the ALLVUE window (or the entire screen if you prefer) so that you can examine the image in full or super size and see every detail. 2. If you have downloaded the "Full Distribution" version, all you need do is run "setup.exe". It will take care of the rest and let you select or create a directory for ALLVUE. The installation procedure also uses Windows 95 and Windows NT V4.0 "Add/Remove Program" feature to support removal if you decide to remove it from your computer for any reason. Just select "START/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL", and click on the "Add/Remove Programs" option. A dialog box will appear with a list of programs you can remove. Just select ALLVUE and follow the instructions. Our Web-page will indicate when an available minimum distribution will work and on which prior versions it will work. If no "Minimum Distribution" is available, you must download the "Full Distribution" to assure that other necessary system files are on your system and are up-to-date. 3. ALLVUE is Shareware, and as such, is free for a 30 day evaluation. You then have the option of registering it for permanent use or deleting it from your system. In addition to the registration process making your use of ALLVUE legal, it will also remove the "Evaluation Mode" bars and license reminder. 4. The program may be freely distributed in "Evaluation Mode" as long as it is done so in its entirety with all copyrights, license information, this readme file, etc. In other words, the entire ZIP file you downloaded from our site or one of our distributors. 5. Version changes: Version 2.00 is a major upgrade and adds the ability to copy, print, and delete image files individually and in bulk. It also adds renaming ability, and the ability to resize the ALLVUE window, plus additional caption abilities and numerous other enhancements and viewing options. Version 2.01 adds the ability to load files with extension JPEG and TIFF to the prior extensions of JPG and TIF in the support of long filenames and fixed a rare error when zooming to actual size from a maximized window. Version 2.02 adds the ability to display actual size images in Multi-view. Version 2.10 adds the ability to mirror and flip the image in zoom mode and allows mirror, flip, and rotate to determine image orientation when right-click printing. It also adds an option to save settings on exit, change caption font size, view "Hidden" image files, and more. It allows the ability to view images larger than the screen, such as digitally scanned documents, adds an additional way to print all fifteen Multi-View images, and fixes a problem printing text under images in screen printing the Multi-View Window. In addition, it updates, or if missing, adds systems files and is therefore only available as a "Full Distribution" download.
