If you want to keep track of your music collection, TapeMaker can help you. It stores album title, media, artist, songs, and song times. It can handle albums with multiple artists. Best of all, it allows you to configure the database to store other information of your own choosing. If you like to record cassette tapes with a variety of songs and play them at parties, in your car, or just at home, TapeMaker for Windows can help you. TapeMaker can help you choose which songs to put on your tape. It will tell you whether you have chosen enough music to fill up the tape, or too much. It will find the best arrangement for your songs so that your entire tape is filled with music - with no blank tape left. Finally, TapeMaker will print out the cassette insert card with the list of songs on the tape and a title that you have chosen for the tape. TapeMaker also comes with a built-in CD player. TapeMaker gives you: - a database for your music collection - user defined multiple-choice and text fields for customizing your music database - up to 100 songs per album - the ability to display songs in your music collection by album, artist, song title, or playing time - the ability to search for albums, artists, and songs - customizable print-outs of your music collection - drag-and-drop selection of the songs you want to record on your tape - a running total of the playing time of the songs you have selected - the flexibility to configure the length of your blank cassette tape (e.g., 60 minutes, 90 minutes, etc.) - an optimize function that arranges the music you have selected so that it fits on your blank tape and minimizes the amount of empty tape remaining - the ability to manually rearrange songs on a cassette insert - beautiful cassette inserts with a choice of fonts and background images - extensive help available at any time - The ability to export your data to dBase format, which can be read by database and spreadsheet programs. Getting Started: ================ TapeMaker for Windows requires Microsoft Windows 95 or NT. Run Setup.exe to install TapeMaker. It will create a TapeMaker subdirectory in your Program Files directory (where Microsoft recommends you put programs). A sample database, Sample.mus, is provided with TapeMaker so that you can quickly learn how the program works. You can run TapeMaker by clicking Start -> Programs -> TapeMaker -> TapeMaker. Context-sensitive help is available at any time by pressing F1. The Latest Version of TapeMaker: ================================ You can get the latest version of TapeMaker from the World Wide Web at http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Robert_E_Alexander Registering TapeMaker: ====================== I urge you register. A lot of work over many years went into TapeMaker, and I've been very attentive to my customers in fixing bugs they find (and giving them free updates), adding features, and helping them with any difficulties they ran in to. So if you find TapeMaker useful, please register it. Each registered user receives a printed manual that explains all the TapeMaker features in detail, the latest version of TapeMaker, and a registration ID that eliminates the "nag" window. If you're overseas, don't worry about the postage. I realize it's inconvenient for you to get U.S. currency or checks, so the least I can do is pay the extra postage myself. Feel free to give copies of TapeMaker to any friends who may find it useful. Sharing quality software with others is an important part of making shareware work. Thank you for registering and supporting the shareware concept. Distributing TapeMaker: ======================= The ZIP file you received should be a copy of the ZIP file I created. When you un-zip it, you should see verification information from me (i.e. my name should appear after the files are un-zipped). If you don't, the files might have been tampered with or infected with a virus. If you upload TapeMaker to a BBS (and I hope you will!) please upload the original ZIP file. Do not upload a ZIP file that you created, since my authentication information will not be in it. Terms: ====== TapeMaker is Copyright 1989-1997 by Robert E. Alexander.
