Introduction ---------------- Setup Specialist 97 is a rapid setup development tool for Windows 95 and Windows NT. It creates 32 bit as well as 16 bit setup programs. Setup Specialist provides support for selective installations, uninstall, creation of program groups and registry modifications and creates English as well as German setup programs. Setup Specialist provides a training card feature that guides you through all the steps necessary to create your setup program. You do not need to learn any script language to create setup programs using Setup Specialist: All options can be set using a user-friendly graphical user interface. The setup programs created by Setup Specialist are featured by the typical Windows 95 wizard appearance. Supports many other features, e.g. billboards, efficient data compression and much more. ----------------------- 2. System Requirements ----------------------- Design time - 486DX2/66 required, 586 or higher recommended - Microsoft(r) Windows(r) 95 or Windows NT(r) Workstation version 3.51 or higher (x86 only) - VGA or Super-VGA monitor - 3.5 MB (minimum) of free disk space - A mouse or equivalent pointing device Runtime - 80386 or higher required - Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5 or higher (x86 only), Windows 3.1x or Windows for Workgroups 3.1x ---------------- 3. Installation ---------------- If you received this version of Setup Specialist on a floppy disk please follow the instructions on the disk label to install Setup Specialist. If you received this version of Setup Specialist in a ZIP file (for example, SSPCLS97.ZIP), you can install it as follows: First extract the files to a temporary directory. You can delete this directory when setup has completed. - On Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.x: Select Run from the Taskbar Start menu, type the full name of the temporary directory followed by a backslash and the name of the installation program (e.g., C:\SSPCLST.TMP\SETUP.EXE), press the ENTER key, and follow the instructions displayed. - On Windows NT 3.51: Activate the Program Manager, select Run from the File menu, type the full name of the temporary directory followed by a backslash and the name of the installation program (e.g., C:\SSPCLST.TMP\SETUP.EXE), press the ENTER key, and follow the instructions displayed. ------------------ 4. Known Problems ------------------ Setup Specialist does not work correctly under Microsoft® Win32s®. ------------- 5. Licensing ------------- Setup Specialist is Shareware, which means that you may evaluate it for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of its original installation and use. After the evaluation period has elapsed or if you want to distribute any of the setup programs created by Setup Specialist you must register it.
