LHARC SHELL By Glen Booth GLARC2 These days file compression is a very important thing if you want to save many frequently used programs on one hard drive or backup your data safely onto less disks. If you use these compression programs it tends to be very time consuming giving the command from the dos prompt. With LHARC SHELL you can skip that and go right to just compressing or decompressing. LHARC gives you a higher compression ratio than that of ZIP or PAK etc. It is the higest compression ratio I have ever seen. If you like this program I have written and use it then please send 5 dollars to: Glen Booth 841 Woods Ct. Lawrenceville, GA 30244 If you send this then I will send you a version that covers other popular compression programs like ZIP or PAK. I will also send you updates when they are made. If you find any errors or if you want to make any suggestions then please call me as soon as possible (between 3 pm and 9 pm) and tell me at (404) 822-9669 so I can correct them and send you a new version on a disk if you registered, and upload it to a bulletin board. If you sent in your 5 dollars then I will also send you information about other things I am working on (and there are a lot). Please in your letter containing 5 dollars send me your disk type 3 1/2" or 5 1/4" so I can send your program on a disk that works on your system. Here are some key points about the program: From the files prompt under the freeze selection you can press '.' and enter at any time to get a directory listing of the current subdirectory. From any prompt except the main menu which has the 'E' choice you can press '-' to exit to the main menu. You can now select where LHARC is and you can select whether to delete the files after compressing, but the file glrc.stp must be in the current directory you are in when running glarc. I am including the newest version of LHARC with this version of glarc it is in the file called lh114b.exe. Added to this version of GLARC is SFX (self-extracting file) support, testing of lzh files, and setup. Trademarks: ZIP is the property of Phil Katz Lharc is the property of Yoshi PAK is the property of Nogate Consulting
