1.0 GENERAL 1.1 Minimum system requirements BlueBook requires an IBM-compatible PC with VGA graphics running any operating system that runs MS-DOS programs. It uses conventional memory only (approximately 480k, plus any memory required for whatever file viewer program is used). The only files you really MUST have to run BlueBook are "BlueBook.Exe" and "BBMain.Exe". BBmain.Exe should preferably be placed in a directory in your PATH (see section 3.3). The following programs and files are used by BBMain, and should also be copied (or moved) into a directory in your Path: BBView.Com BlueBook.Hlp BlueBook.Doc All the rest are support files and utility programs, and are not actually essential. ---------------------------------------------------------- BlueBook makes NO changes to your system files. ---------------------------------------------------------- 1.2 License conditions BlueBook version 1 is copyrighted freeware. You are permitted to install and run it wherever you like without charge, and to distribute it, also without charge (except for normal shareware distribution costs), to anyone you wish, the only other conditions being (1) that you do not disassemble, reverse-engineer, or otherwise modify the package in any way, and (2) that you distribute the WHOLE package (60 files). If you wish to include BlueBook version 1 as part of any added value package or other commercial offer, that's fine, provided you do not charge for it separately or as part of a bundle. In short, with those provisos, we WANT you to copy and distribute it: as "payment", if you like, for the package. ---------------------------------------------------------- Note: The Enhanced Version 2 is NOT FreeWare, and normal restrictions apply. ---------------------------------------------------------- 1.3 Disclaimer "This software is released and licensed on the basis of `all care but no responsibility'. The author and publisher accept NO liability of ANY kind arising from your use of BlueBook, and by your use of it you indicate your acceptance of these terms." (With that legal stuff out of the way, we don't think you actually will have any problems!)
