From Windows: You "may" want to select WORD WRAP from EDIT above - it'll be easier to read and/or PRINT this file for referral purposes. August 17th, 1995. This is Version 1.0 of the Michigan GM Goodwrench Dealer 400 1995 NASCAR Winston Cup ACARS95. For: Papyrus NASCAR Racing Sim, ALL VERSIONS Requires PkUnZip V 2.04G Hi. Thanks for choosing ACARS95. >>ALL of the ACARS95 set cars, have JUST completed "tech" inspection, exited the tech lanes, had the approved by NASCAR sticker affixed to the top leading edge of the windshield, as signified by the lime green sticker, and are ready to go racing.<< This set now contains the following details: Tech approval stickers, roof flaps, fuel filler necks and overflow nozzles, jack stickers, helmets and see through nets, brand names and logo's, realistic sponsor stickers and placement, body panel indentations, front end details, colours, driver and crew suits, proper rocker, bumper, and body shading, realistic numbers and lettering. Whether or not the NASCAR sim can handle ALL this detail is, I suppose another matter. The ORDER of the cars is as per the CURRENT 1995 Winston Cup Points race. See WCPoints.Txt - for Current 1995 WC Points standings All Current Rookies have an " R " at the end of their name to designate their rookie status. And, of course, to conform with NASCAR rules, you'll discover yellow tape on their rear bumpers. For those among you who wish to include different cars, here are 7 additional ones for you to incorporate into acars95: You have a chance to qualify the following race cars for racing: 19 Loy Allen Tri Star Racing HealthSource Ford 20 Dick Morosso Fina/Lance Ford 27 Elton Sawyer Junior Johnson Hooters Ford 32 Chuck Bown} (Active TruckingFord) Rich Bickle} current as at Indy Fina Petroleum Chev Greg Sacks } drove @ Indy 95 71 Dave Marcis Prodigy Chev 81 Kenny Wallace FilMar Racing TIC Financial Ford 02 Curtis Markham 1994 Advil Ford >>NOTE: If by now, any or all of the following instructions are redundant, please IGNORE.<< To use any of these additional cars, (THAT IS IF YOU WISH TO import A CAR INTO YOUR RACE CAR SPOT) simply copy the file to C:\NASCAR\NASC94.PCX - this will REName the file as well and then access ACARS95 in PaintKit and go to the Second car spot. Currently I have the 44 Jack-A-Roo Barby-Q-Sauce car usually driven this year by Jeff Purvis. SELECT and hit IMPORT and SAVE. Done! Now you have a Big League Winston Car at your finger tips! It's necessary to REName your car file to NASC94.PCX first. To change your car # (depending on your choice of race car) open up the Drivers2.Txt, look for the second line - just below Elmo Langley and backspace out the 44 and type in your selection. Also remember to select your chassis. To add your name, nickname, hometown, etc., just follow the format (MAKE SURE you employ the "underline" in place of a space _ ) OR you can do the name from Drivers' Info screen in your NASCAR sim. Further: I recommend you BACKUP your text files if you are making changes. If you choose the 02 Advil car, make the number 102 in the Drivers2.Txt ___________________________________________________ DRIVERS2.TXT and LEAGUE.TXT Enclosed you will ALSO find a LEAGUE.TXT - this is an NCAR and other racing league "LEGAL" Drivers2.Txt. To use it in place of the current Drivers2.TXT, FIRST re-name the current Drivers2.Txt (iin the C:\NASCAR\CARS\ACARS95 directory) to another .Txt filename. Move the LEAGUE.TXT file to C:\NASCAR\CARS\ACARS95 and then Re-Name the LEAGUE.TXT to: DRIVERS2.TXT. There you have it! When you are ready for some "action", and non-league racing, reverse the above process. NOTE: IT'S ALWAY A GOOD IDEA TO RENAME FILES **FIRST** - that way you WILL NOT overwrite by mistake a file you wish to have kept. ____________________________________________________ Also contained within this zip file is an ACARS95.Txt list which details ALL the PCX car files and placement. The cars include new, improved nets and helmets. The Pace car for the Michigan set is the "Official" NASCAR Pace Car, a 1995 Pontiac Trans-Am. Thanks to Chris Fredricks, Denny Hoffmann, Mark Turner, and Jose DeLeon for graphical input. After all, advancing the "art" of carsets is what this exercise is all about. You may also notice in all the cars that the lower side rocker panel colours are REVERSED in the Body Shop section of eack car file PaintKit mode?! I've been doing this on some cars for quite some time now since I noticed in the rear view mirror while racing that the panel colours were reversed. So, to compensate for that, I reversed these in the PaintKit file of each car and NOW when you are racing, the panels in your rear view mirror look correct. They just seem a little "out" in your PaintKit file. After all, racing's what it's all about, right? __________________________________________________________ TIP If you are attempting to qualify and don't like your result, not to worry! Simply SHIFT R which will put you back into pit lane ready for another go, or ESC which will putyou into the menu (at this point I go to the garage to get another setup) and then select RESUME and then back at it, ready for another qualifying run! You can continue this process indefinetly although I there comes a point where racing's all that matters. As ALWAYS, Comments, suggestions are Welcome. I appreciate hearing from all of you who've taken the time to send a message - I pay attention to ALL comments. This set reflects your comments. I hope you'll find this set to your liking? If you like this carset, perhaps you'll appreciate the other "A" carset series?
