Ascendancy, 1995 IBM PC CD-ROM game by The Logic Factory
ASCEND.EXE version 1.6.1 (UNIVBE patch) 10/4/95

For people who have video cards with built-in VESA BIOS extensions, but
who want to force the loading of UNIVBE, this patch should do the trick.


Here's the procedure:


1. Copy this ASCEND.EXE over the ASCEND.EXE in the directory you installed
Ascendancy to.

2. In the Ascendancy directory, type "uvconfig -gen". This will run the
UNIVBE configuration program.

3. Run Ascendancy by typing "ascend u". The "u" switch will force the loading
of UNIVBE.


Note: You may want to save off a copy of your old ASCEND.EXE in case you
ever want to restore it. Of course, you can always re-install it from the
Ascendancy CD.
