BBHelp v0.87 Readme file ======================== About BBHelp ============ BBHelp is a windows help file. You can use hypertext links to find topics covering a variety of bacterial, protein and PCR methods, as well as various appendices. The appendices cover topics including enzymes for use in partial fill-ins, plasmid maps, etc. The information has been sumitted by various authors and is referenced as far as possible. BBHelp is not intended to be a complete reference, as this would make the file impossibly large, and there are printed texts and manuals. Rather it is intended to contain useful information on techniques that are used frequently and offer the information in a format that is easy to follow. If you would like to add to the information I would be greatful if you sent me all the relevant data. You can contact me via email at 'bbabb@medmicro.uct.ac.za'. Similarly, I would be greatful to hear what you like/dislike about BBHelp and what corrections need to be made. Disclaimer ========== You use BBHelp completely at your own risk. Copyright etc ============= You are free to copy and distibute BBHelp as you wish under the proviso that you distribute the entire package (BBHELP.HLP, LOGO.ICO, README.TXT and FILE_ID.DIZ) and that you do so for no charge. You may use BBHelp only if you reference the contributing authors as appropriate! Installation ============ Create a directory for the files, eg. C:\BBHELP and unzip all the files to this directory. In windows, use the program manager to create a new group file (File|New|Group) called MolBiol. In the MolBiol group, add a new file item (File|New|Item) with the command line 'winhelp c:\bbhelp\bbhelp.hlp' Also, change the icon using the 'Change Icon' button. You can browse to 'c:\bbhelp\logo.ico' Using BBHelp ============ Double click on the BBHelp icon in the MolBiol group. Two help windows will appear. The Window on the left contains the index. By clicking on items in the index, you will either bring up a new menu or bring up a topic in the information window on the right. You can use the search button to search for a topic, or the browse buttons to browse. Hopefully it will all be obvious when you try it. Individual topics can be copied to the clipboard or printed..... ---> Brendan Babb
